A California HOA is threatening homeowners in San Marcos with $100 fines for flying the American flag outside their homes ahead of America’s 250th birthday, the CA Post reports.

Amy and Chris Cooke say they’ve flown Old Glory for 20 years to honor Chris’ grandfather, Alexander Christie, who died serving in World War II.

Their neighbor, Terri Collins, has flown her flag for 35 years.

Now the Ambiance Owners’ Association reportedly says the flag represents a “political or affiliative view” that could “degrade” the common area.

Seriously?

The American flag is not a political statement.

It is the flag of the United States of America.

Terri said it best:

"I’m not taking my flag down. They can fine me, $100, $200, $1,000, I’m not paying it."

We have flown a regular-sized American flag on the front of our house every day of the 24 years we've lived here.

We have newer neighbors that I would guess are in their early thirties. They have a five-year-old son.

My hubby is friendly with them.

Yesterday, the husband came over and had the nerve to ask my hubby to remove the flag because it, “triggers his son”.

Two things.

First, how does a five-year-old become “triggered” by the flag of his birth? Can you imagine what the parents are drilling into this poor kid?!

Second, the complete NERVE of this guy to ask.

Needless to say, today my husband replaced our regular-sized flag with a HUGE one.

In England alone, around 382,000 British people were homeless in late 2025 according to Shelter — including those in temporary accommodation and rough sleeping. At the same time, migrants and asylum seekers continue to be housed in hotels, apartments and other accommodation at massive public expense.
This is a direct betrayal of the British people. The same government that claims there is no money for veterans, the elderly or homeless families somehow finds unlimited resources to accommodate foreign nationals who have contributed nothing. British citizens who built this country, paid taxes and played by the rules are left on the streets or in hostels while newcomers receive priority treatment.
Mass migration has created an artificial housing crisis on top of the existing one. Every bed, hotel room or flat given to someone who should not be here is a bed denied to a British person in genuine need. The political class that opened the borders and refuses to deport failed asylum seekers, criminals and economic migrants is directly responsible for this inversion of priorities.
The solution is straightforward. Stop housing foreign nationals at British taxpayers’ expense. Deport those with no right to be here, especially those who commit crimes or make no contribution. End the incentives that encourage more arrivals while native homelessness rises. British people must come first in their own country — for housing, for welfare and for basic decency.
382,000 homeless Britons is a national disgrace made worse by policies that put outsiders ahead of citizens. Deport. Prioritise. Restore sanity to housing and immigration policy before more British people are left to suffer on the streets.
