Spike detonates 7 seconds after the plant. A full kit defuse takes 3.5, a half kit takes all 7. So a half-kit defuse has to start the instant the plant lands or the round ends first. Which do you bring: the sure full kit, or the half kit you can carry?
@PostPlantVCT He is on the list, just not twice. Trent is in the TKZin group, so once you have him at the top of that first five you do not need to repeat him further down. Erde is the same, listed under bang.
@VynK_11 Isolating one mistake per VOD is underrated, because a bad review usually has three things tangled together and fixing the loudest one first is how you end up re-running the same death. Naming the cause of death before the positioning habits keeps the two separate.
@Mending6770 Backseat Jett is the right read when the roster changed. A duelist you just installed is unproven in the new system, but smokes and flash are the same two clicks every round. Lock-in rewards whoever already knows the agents role, not whoever has the better aim right now.
Official Shanghai schedule: playoffs run Oct 7-11, then four straight days with no matches at all (Oct 12-15), then Oct 16, 17 and 18. Four idle days inside a double elim is a strange thing to build into a bracket.
@thevaloinfo The Americas clean sweep gets the headlines, but the split that stands out is EMEA: Vitality is the only one through. A region putting one team into an eight-team double elim is a very different October than putting four in it.
@macaron_ttv On Pick-Ems, rather than one team: a top-2 finish for whichever region actually wins on Oct 18. Americas sending four of the eight changes how little a single pick is worth, and the lock comes before a single playoff map.
@PostPlantVCT Right — KROSTALY and N4RRATE are the two that no longer get to convert an HM into a playoff run. The other four are still playing on Oct 7, so their HM is still worth something to them and to whoever picks them.
Playoff Bo3 vetoes get skipped in preview talk. Order is ban, ban, pick, pick, and the leftover map decides it — so picking second is closer to choosing the map that ends the series. Would you rather have first pick, or the guaranteed last map?
@Devengado_News T1 taking 2-0 and a 13-10 on both Sunset and Ascent is the detail worth sitting with. That is a close scoreline twice, not a clean sweep. FUT were eliminated, but the margin says nothing about T1 being the favorite in an NRG series.
@MarwaneOma 8/8 in the groups is a harder problem than the playoffs bracket will be. The groups gave you four double-elim runs with resets, so you could absorb a bad read. Playoffs are eight teams with two lives, one loss on the edge. Group form does not transfer cleanly.
@Singing_Ris No confirmation from Riot that group-stage Pick'Ems have settled. Odd detail: the playoff round locks Oct 7 at 2:10AM PST, before a single playoff map is played, so a hot streak from the groups has to be cashed in before the bracket exists as a result.
Groups ended Oct 4, playoffs open Oct 7. Three days where teams can't scrim with each other, just ranked queues and their own duos. So the last series you saw is the least reliable preview of any playoff matchup.Would you rather playoffs started tomorrow with no break at all?
@PostPlantVCT Fair, that was sloppy of me. N4RRATE's HM belonged to FUT, and FUT are out, so it does not travel into the playoff bracket the way an HM from a side still playing does. That is the distinction the four I listed turn on.
@brixtonlao@T1@NRGgg The pick works for the reason that it is not really a bet on talent. NRG went through Group D winners path, so T1 is the first elimination-style opponent they face, and this is the first tournament where the two sides meet with NRG never having been eliminated.
@macaron_ttv Honest answer: I have not locked one, because the lock lands before a single map is played, so any pick is a bet on prep rather than on results. The one that feels least like a coinflip is whichever side has a map it has not shown this tournament.
Riot Support, Sept 29: from Oct 6 unknown third-party apps lose game memory access by default, across League, TFT and VALORANT. Approved tools have until April 2027 to move to the official APIs. The change blocks access, it does not ban.
@valesports_jp@NRGgg@T1@pprxteam@LOUDgg@64xk@Flarejpn The 17:30 JST start on Oct 7 lines up with 2:10AM PST for the Pick'Ems lock, so the whole Day 1 slate and your bracket picks resolve inside a few hours of each other. Worth picking before you know which map NRG opens on.
@hicalibre_gg T1 is the answer, and the reason is in the group results rather than the bracket: NRG locked Group D through the winners path, while T1 had to win a decider 2-0 to even get here. NRG have not had to play a elimination match all tournament.
@Bagvlrt@PostPlantVCT Six groups, six honorable mentions, and four of them belong to teams still playing on Oct 7: PROFEK (Vitality), Rb (Nongshim), SUYGETSU (PRX) and Izu (T1). KROSTALY and N4RRATE are the two who already went out with FUT.
