Another day, another set of “discoveries” of “fraudulent” spending by Musk that turn out to be “publicly available information” about “spending that Musk doesn’t like”
Just gotta repeat it:
They have not found a single dollar of fraud. They are just calling spending they don’t like “fraud,” and violating the Constitution to impound it.
in every instance that a public figure invokes the phrase "DEI," reporters need to instantly, unequivocally ask what – and who – they are talking about. we are in the business of words.
Trump’s move to blame the crash on diversity reflects his instinct to immediately frame major events through his political lens whether facts fit or not. After the terrorist attack in New Orleans, he blamed immigration even though the attacker was a US citizen born in Texas.
We are appalled by President Trump's comments blaming DEI policies for a major plane crash in D.C., which is still under investigation. As leadership positions within the FAA remain vacant, this Administration continues to try to scapegoat and divide us.
Despicable. As families grieve, Trump should be leading, not lying. We put safety first, drove down close calls, grew Air Traffic Control, and had zero commercial airline crash fatalities out of millions of flights on our watch.
President Trump now oversees the military and the FAA. One of his first acts was to fire and suspend some of the key personnel who helped keep our skies safe. Time for the President to show actual leadership and explain what he will do to prevent this from happening again.
At the inaugural prayer service, the Right Rev. Mariann Budde, the Episcopal bishop of Washington, made a direct appeal to President Donald Trump to have mercy on the LGBTQ+ community and undocumented migrant workers.
Three things to do today in ranked order: (1) check your voter registration; (2) get yourself a sweet treat; (3) follow me for democracy TikToks. https://t.co/ta4jnC0YiL
Late night news: a federal court has ruled that Alabama’s cruel ban on absentee ballot application assistance violates Section 208 of the Voting Rights Act.
BREAKING: A Federal court has granted our preliminary injunction to prevent SB1 from being enforced against blind, disabled, and low-literacy voters and those who help them with their absentee ballot applications. This ruling is a big step forward for voter rights in Alabama!
SB 1 makes it a felony crime punishable by up to 20 years in prison to assist voters with absentee ballot applications. This evening a federal court said that cruel law cannot be enforced against blind, disabled, or low literacy voters under federal law.
Tonight, our legal system tragically failed Marcellus “Khaliifah” Williams for the final time.
The state of Missouri executed Mr. Williams in a horrific display of inhumanity, despite compelling evidence of his innocence.
Tonight, we mourn his loss and honor his legacy.
The Supreme Court has denied our requests for a stay of execution. Thank you so very much for your support. Please pray, take a moment of silence, or send your best thoughts to Mr. Williams and his loved ones. 💔
So, what can you do? On this @NatlVoterRegDay, check your voter registration, and make sure you and your loved ones are registered to vote. https://t.co/hOmT5MzDIx. Happy NVRD!
3) Relatedly, state actors are peddling the myth that there is an issue of noncitizen voting. The actual effect of this lie is to suppress voter registration for naturalized citizens and stoke fear among vulnerable communities. https://t.co/4YYFupEXCk
