Sp500 going for ATH. Can we see a blow off top around the midterms? If they bring oil down, I think we can see a big final leg in this bull cycle. Another +20% accross broad markets sounds crazy for few months but can happen.
My wife left me today. She said it was because I “never stop talking.” I said the yen carry trade is a $20 trillion leveraged bet that the Bank of Japan will never normalize rates and she said “I’m taking the dog.”
Let me explain to you what I was trying to explain to her.
For thirty years Japan ran rates at zero. Zero. Free money. So the entire planet borrowed yen for nothing and bought literally anything with yield. Treasuries, Mexican peso bonds, Nasdaq, your uncle’s crypto. That’s the carry trade. It’s not a strategy. It’s a short volatility position wearing a business casual outfit.
Then in August 2024 the BOJ raised rates 15 basis points. FIFTEEN. And the yen ripped, the Nikkei fell 12% in a day, and the VIX printed 65. That was the tremor. That was the trailer.
She said “you said this last year.” I said YES AND I WAS RIGHT, THE MARKET JUST FORGOT, and she started packing.
Japan’s debt-to-GDP is roughly 250%. The BOJ owns over half the JGB market. They are the market. There’s no price discovery, there’s a guy in Tokyo with a printer and a dream. Every basis point higher on the long end costs them real money on debt they can never actually repay in real terms. So what do you do when you can’t default and you can’t pay? You inflate. You always inflate. It’s the only tool that doesn’t require anyone to vote.
She said “our marriage counselor thinks you have anxiety.” I said your marriage counselor doesn’t know what the 30-year JGB is doing and she said “NOBODY KNOWS WHAT THE 30-YEAR JGB IS DOING, THAT’S THE POINT, PAUL.”
My name isn’t Paul. That’s how far gone we are.
Anyway I’ve got canned goods, a Kagoshima yield curve chart laminated above the bed, and nobody left to explain it to. So it’s you now. Buckle up.
Michael Burry is making $11.7M a month or an annualized $140.5M (before fees) on Substack. Wild.
Why run a hedge fund anymore?!
He is setting precedence!
@rekurencja I made some calcs. I believe they have the money already to roll the loans. Best if they can switch to EXIM bank and ditch the Brazilian banks for better terms but they probably raised already enough to decrease and roll loans with Brazilian banks. Bottom should near then 🚀
Strategy has sold 3,588 $BTC for $216 million to fund dividends on our Digital Credit securities. As of 7/5/2026, we hodl ₿843,775 in our BTC Reserves and $2.55 billion in our USD Reserves. https://t.co/Cssgz29Psj
BTC. Next leg down to low 50s is where bears should become cautious. Around 52k-54k the downside liquidity will be taken and we will have a big bounce. This rally is mostly likely over but will next week. To be frank around 50k, bears should become bulls and play it long term.
BTC. This July rally so far looks like pump and dump. Low volume, July 4, retail bullish for big rally.
Lets see how this plays out. 50k is coming maybe earlier than everyone expects.
July relief bitcoin rally. I mean everyone talks about it like it is for sure this time again. So retail strategy is buying now and selling at 68-72k and then we go to 40-50k by Sept/Oct. Making money is easy right? 😂🌞🥳 But can it be bottom in July/Aug and then the uptrend.
BTC. This sounds scary to be frank. SOLD all bitcoin at once? These transactions look to me that we might have seen the ATH forever. Now is hard to believe but looks very suspicious. This is not a lucky guy but someone who knows the end game.
This guy bought 80,000 $BTC in 2011 for just $218,000.
20,000 $BTC at $0.78
60,009 $BTC at $3.37
Then he did nothing for 14 years.
Last year he woke up and cashed out, in one of the LARGEST Bitcoin transactions in history.
$218,000 into $9,000,000,000.
This is the power of Bitcoin.
