Early voting has started today.
After spending entirely too much time following these races, I’ve created what I believe is the only thing DC voters actually need:
A coping strategy.
Happy Voting!
The Mayor's proposed FY2027 budget is public ... as a stack of PDFs most people don't want to search through, cross-reference, or analyze. This annoyed me last year, so this year I prepped something that is easier to go through.

Rosa Cabezas was struck and killed by a car on my block a year ago. That car wasn’t going extraordinarily fast, it’s just that it doesn’t take much for a car to harm a human being. The flowers her family placed where she died are still there
Selling stolen oil and putting billions of dollars in a bank in Qatar to be spent without Congressional approval is not Constitutional.

@TheRightDuff@BarredinDC Went a couple of Saturdays ago and it was pretty dead at 10:30pm. Was also surprised to learn that most of their cocktails are batched & they weren't willing to make a fresh or similar type of drink w/ a different liquor. At that price point, felt like missing the mark.
HUGE congratulations to @labyrinthdc on 15 years AND a big congrats to Kathleen on her new adventures as she retires from the store. We congratulate Melissa Campbell — Labyrinth ‘s current GM and a fixture of the store for the past six years— on purchasing the store! Big changes!
On Wednesday the D.C. Council is expected to approve a 13% pay raise for police officers in the city. The total cost will be $312 million over 4 years. The pay raises are retroactive for two years, prospective for one. Starting salary for an officer will jump to $75k from $66k.
Thinking about the family of Rep. Melissa Hortman & her husband who were assassinated at the hands of a radical MAGA shooter in June.
Melissa was doing such important work for the state of Minnesota & this country-we still grieve her loss & demand strict gun reform legislation.
Free idea for the National Guard: this downed tree has been blocking the main road in the National Arboretum for half the summer.
