Building a thalassaemia hospital at the very isolated corner of phase 2 in hulhumale is notmaking the place most accessible to patients. Especially for the patients who come for medicals to male’. 1/3
This should scare you. Not just concern you. Actually scare you.
Because what we’re seeing isn’t an isolated mistake anymore. It’s becoming a pattern. A system where negligence keeps happening, and then silence follows.
And let’s be clear. We are not talking about paperwork or minor delays. We are talking about human lives. People’s loved ones. A child fighting to survive. A parent waiting for care. Families walking into hospitals trusting they will be taken care of, only to be failed when it matters most.
Think about that for a second.
You can do everything right. You can seek help, follow every instruction, wait patiently, trust the system. And still lose someone because someone else didn’t act, didn’t care enough, or simply let it slip.
Hospitals. Doctors. Nurses. Institutions. This isn’t about pointing at one person. It’s about a culture where delays, mistakes, and negligence are quietly brushed aside instead of being confronted. These cases are not rare. They happen more than we admit. They just don’t get talked about long enough.
And what happens after?
Nothing.
No proper investigation. No real answers. No accountability. The same people go back to work the next day like nothing happened, while families are left carrying grief that never leaves them.
And because there are no consequences, our health sector has become too comfortable. Too careless. There is an untouchable attitude growing where people know they won’t be held responsible, and that should worry every single one of us.
Sit with that.
Because this means something much bigger than one case. It means if it happens to you, if it’s your mother, your child, your brother, there is no guarantee anyone will answer for it. No guarantee anyone will even be forced to explain.
That is not just failure. That is dangerous.
@MMuizzu this needs to change.
We need an independent body, a separate committee or board that is not part of the same system, to investigate cases of medical negligence properly. Not internal reviews that protect institutions, but real, transparent investigations that protect people.
Every single person who failed in their duty must be identified and held accountable. Not quietly, not internally, but in a way that ensures this never happens again.
Because right now, what we are allowing is worse than negligence.
We are allowing a system where preventable deaths are absorbed, normalized, and forgotten.
And if that doesn’t make you uncomfortable, angry, and afraid, then we’ve already accepted something we never should have.
It is a sad day to the thalassaemia community. The only patient working at maldivian blood services, who is the parent body of all patients is facing discrimination and bullying from the newly elected DG ahmeem farish(SM Shirna’s BOT). While it has been only a month to his(1)
you’ve caused more harm than good to the patient community aswell ur staff. It is time for u to step down u selfish clown..🤡 #shirna isthiufa# sumaiyyath isthiufa @MoHmv@presidencymv@MMuizzu@cscmaldives (end)
Happy nurses day to all the nurse who tirelessly work in giving the best care to the patient, all except 1.. sumaiyyath shakir who works in maldivian blood services as a ward manager? Meenaa aky amilla edhun iskoh meenaage belumuge dhashuga thibey naruhunnahves jessun kuraa..(1)
you are as incompetent as Shirna. You’ve been bossing around the staff, directly or indirectly making them feel insecure and discriminated. You’ve been rude and have MISUSED your position in the hierarchy to exert power within MBS. Empowered by Shirna and acting as her puppet(2)
Or such keenly interested parties who are looking to get this land for years, to expand their businesses. But a goverment who has pledged for the betterment of thalassaemia should really consider i really hope u do @presidencymv@MMuizzu@MoHmv
It is deeply saddening that today after 31 years to the thalassaemia centre that we have to move to orange hiya. It is for the betterment since the building is old. But this is a land allocated by then president his excellency maumoon abdul gayyoom for the cause of thalassaemia
I urge the goverment to reconsider to plan a dedicated thalassaemia hospital in this piece of land where a lot of patient can easily access the services. Having said this i understand that the goverment may profit or not by leasing the land to ADK ..
@ValentinaForUSA Haha she thinks she done a great speech.. but u look stupid innit? Going on about being Discriminatory given that she herself is mexican. A wannabe american i suppose.
@ValentinaForUSA Sounds like a lot of bull shit and a whole lot of islamophobia.. FYI america is not a christian country its a country which stands for freedom of religion. U better first get some education.
@AJEnglish The thruth is that this is the end of USA control over global economy and the dollar is finished. Trump can keep bluffing all he want. Keep boycotting USA, Israel and its goods. The world will not take kindly to these half assed threats. Sayonara trump, sayonara US dollars
@AJEnglish He is a bitch to netanyahu. Trump better get out of his delusion which he thinks he owns the gaza strip. Goes on and on repeating the same thing on how America can do whatever it wants to other big countries with nuclear weapon. Iran cant have a nuclear program? The hypocrisy!
