its actually rly funny that all the jokes unironically became true and hollywoods takeaway from heated rivalrys success is more straight sports romances rather than queer stories with queer directors at the helm
@AdamantLuthor@Variety see and I haven’t dived too deep into the pluribus fandom so it’s shocking to hear that. how can anyone hate her?! it’s just wild. also yes about walter. he was a great character but he’s definitely fun to hate
@AdamantLuthor@Variety Then there’s the fact that their dispositions also make them capable of resisting/surviving that’s also just really interesting. but like I said I mean it with affection as a bitchy person myself lol. I’m excited to watch the show explore who they are and what makes them tick
@AdamantLuthor@Variety I use bitch pretty neutrally so that’s on me, but i get where you’re coming from and i agree about the self loathing. also tbf I’d say the same about manousos. both he and carol are both super valid for their attitudes (for all the reasons we see before and after the takeover).
@AdamantLuthor@Variety okay semantics. she’s grumpy, irritable, surly, prickly, a curmudgeon, etc. however earned it may be, she is not pleasant. I say it with love. I appreciate that about her. Her unpleasantness is part and parcel with the plot
JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS (2001) got trapped by its own marketing. Sold as a lightweight teen movie for tweens, it was actually a sharp satire of consumerism, and pop music culture. A lot of the audience it was aimed at was too young to catch the joke.
