SOOOO proud of my dad, @vanRiperBirds, for his commitment to science (yrs into retirement!) and recent pub in @FieldOrnith: https://t.co/HxuABY7VJ3. A whopping 17 years of data from AZ and CO show platform nests are better for productivity in Western Flycatchers. #ornithology
For #FemaleBirdDay I’ve been thinking about why I study the species I do. 4 main focal species - all monomorphic. Coincidence? Nope. When males & females look the same you have to watch behavior to know what you’re seeing. And watching behavior is the best part of studying birds!
This is not a drill. If you are not convinced about changing your behavior and doing your social distancing/hand washing this article should change your mind. This is really serious. Retweet this. https://t.co/DSe0nN8ckY
Nice comprehensive review of data visualization methods for meta-analysis and systematic reviews by Michael Kossmeier et al. covering 208 (!) distinct graphs and graph variations @BMC_series https://t.co/8PjLm2T020
@UASNRE Thanks for the opportunity to kick off the semester seminar series at SNRE with my presentation on polygamy experiments in the cordillaeran flycatcher. It was nice to meet at lunch with the great group of graduate students in the department.
Thanks to your generous contributions, this year bison returned to land they hadn’t occupied since 1877! Bison now have an additional 22,000 acres of protected land in Badlands National Park.
