Graphic novels *are* novels. They aren’t “less than” or “easier.” If a kid has fallen in love with a graphic novel series then they’ve fallen in love with reading.
Teachers, I just got three preview copies of my upcoming I Survived the Great Molasses Flood. I’d like to send to one of your readers (If they promise to share their opinion with me!) Rt to enter. I’ll choose the winner on Friday 8/23.
Teachers, please don't do these 5 things this year:
* take away recess as a punishment
* use silent lunch on whole group
* make students go more than an 1- 1 1/2 hr without a break
or physical activity
* take students misbehavior personally
* give up on your students
