Gilbert senior Vance Nilsson, fresh off breaking the U.S. high school national record in the 300-meter hurdles, has made his college decision: he’s off to Florida to be coached by Mike Holloway at @GatorsTF.

A week after almost breaking the AZ state record in the 300-meter hurdles at the Arcadia Invitational, @GilbertXCTF senior Vance Nilsson just ran 35.67 to absolutely obliterate Robert Grant’s 2014 record (36.24).

He was already the national leader in the event.

And then Nilsson goes 36.87 in the 300-meter hurdles, also breaking the meet record.

There’s a legitimate chance that Brophy Prep Robert Grant’s state record from 2014 is broken this season. Grant has it at 36.24.

Nilsson's parents are both airline pilots. His sister is a pilot and flight instructor at Oklahoma State.

Vance has a chance to tour colleges now, but he is keeping the Air Force Academy as an option with the chance to fly jets.
