THE STAIN & PAIN OF COVID STILL REMAINS!

Today the Phase Two report of the COVID Royal Commission will be released in Parliament.

But let’s be honest.
I already predict it won’t give Kiwis the resolution they’re desperately seeking.

Because New Zealand is still wounded from the COVID-19 era.
This nation is still limping.

The scars are everywhere.

Many Kiwis lost their careers and livelihoods.
Many lost their homes and were forced to relocate.
Many lost their businesses.

Some lost their lives to suicide.

Thousands of people were shunned, isolated and rejected by society because they questioned the narrative.

Many Kiwis are now vaccine injured.

Families were torn apart by vicious debates that raged across dinner tables, workplaces and communities.

Relationships were destroyed.

And the damage from those years is still sitting in the heart of this nation.

Meanwhile, the government buried us under massive debt from reckless COVID spending under Labour.

Billions were thrown around like confetti.

That govt debt will take years…possibly decades…for New Zealanders to repay.
And it’s crippling the nation.
It drove inflation up.
It fuelled the cost of living crisis.
And caused our economy to tank.

And here’s the part that still stings.

Not one politician has had the guts to apologise.
Not one.

▪️ We’ve never had an apology from Jacinda Ardern, who ruled this nation with sweeping emergency powers.

Instead, she’s now joyriding around the world on a lucrative speaking circuit, lecturing other countries about leadership…while the nation she governed is still dealing with the wreckage of her decisions.

▪️ We’ve never had an apology from Chris Hipkins, the COVID Response Minister who drove lockdowns, mandates and unprecedented control over people’s lives.

And yet incredibly, Hipkins is still the leader of the Labour Party…and some people are even considering voting him back in as Prime Minister again.

It’s insanity!

▪️ We’ve never had an apology from Winston Peters, who handed Ardern the Prime Ministership in the first place…and then voted to give her the extraordinary powers of the COVID Response Act.

▪️We’ve never had an apology from Christopher Luxon or National, who while in opposition largely supported the regime and barely challenged the pain being inflicted on everyday Kiwis.

▪️ We’ve never had an apology from David Seymour, who publicly berated people to get the jab or risk losing their benefits.

▪️ The Greens. Te Pāti Māori. All part of the same political oppression.

Not one of them has had the courage to say sorry.

And yet the consequences of their decisions were far more brutal on this nation than the virus itself.

Even today the damage continues.

Every week we see iconic Kiwi businesses closing their doors.
Good businesses.
Family businesses.

Being viciously liquidated by IRD because the government is desperate for cash. Debt piled up during COVID when businesses were forced to shut down or barely function.

At the very least there should have been wide-ranging debt forgiveness for businesses crushed by those government COVID decisions.

Instead, they’re being hunted down.

And let’s talk about the COVID enquiry itself.
Winston Peters used it to win votes.

But from the beginning it was weak and feeble.
It was never given the real powers needed to force Jacinda Ardern and Chris Hipkins to properly front up and answer questions.
It was never given the reach it needed.

And Winston hasn’t passionately championed it since.

Because the truth is this enquiry was a political tool to score votes…not a genuine search for justice.

New Zealand is still throbbing from the COVID years.

The wounds are still open.

And this nation will not heal until true leadership steps forward, takes responsibility and apologises.

Until that happens…

The stain and the pain of the COVID years will remain on this nation.
