#Informal #waste collectors and recyclers in Abuja handle a significant share of waste sorting, particularly recyclable materials, reducing landfill volumes.
Abuja is working to formalise #wastepickers through legislation and capacity-building efforts, improving working conditions, occupational safety, basic equipment, and raising awareness for better recognition.

♀️ #GenderEquality matters for African municipalities wanting to address #ClimateChange & improve access to energy. We support these efforts by providing our signatories with practical resources to co-create gender-responsive projects at the local level⤵️🖱️https://t.co/ftLJHUwtIO

♀️ A special focus on #gender will ensure the position of #women in #ClimateChange is accurately represented throughout the #SEACAP Toolbox.
In turn, this can support your town, city or region to create an inclusive #ClimateAction plan ⤵️
