@breadmanlakings@HockeyVice_ This guy gets it, the only other team that should be even considered is Colorado, and that's only because they won in 2022.
One of the most fascinating observations of @PaulSkallas is the hydration revolution. One example I found is that look at the difference between who the Democrats nominated for Governor in 1990 vs this year:
@PaulSkallas If you sent her back to when Richards was the Texas Governor in the early 1990s, the overwhelming majority of people would guess she's only in her early 30s at the most for age. Truly a stark contrast even only over 30 years ago how much less water we drank in the past.
@PaulSkallas Both are in there 50s in these photos but if you didn't know who these people were, for if Ann Richards were alive today and looked the way she does here, you'd think she looks like a grandmother in her 80s, as for Gina Hinojosa,
@Investooooooor@neoavatara Because roster construction matters, if the average guy trained like a pro, the average guy would not make the majors Because they don't have the God given natural talent that the pro does. You also clearly didn't understand @xwanyex post at all.
@NickBC04@ckieser13 Many NBA pros were already dominating junior high or high school leagues like Kobe and LeBron did, now they practiced sure, but the average guy could practice way more than Kobe and LeBron ever did and would still lose a one on one due to God given natural talent of NBA pro's.
โYou donโt study for the spelling beeโ is a deep and important aspect of American culture. I was at a baseball game discussing some young players with a buddy one time and he said to me offhandedly, โhard work is fine, but nothing beats talent.โ
Americans have this sort of sense that thereโs something a little off about working really hard to get good at something that youโre not naturally good at. Youโre never really going to be on the same level as the guy who has a natural talent. We have room in our hearts for scrappy little guys who work hard, but we are by default suspicious of grinders and strivers.
If you were really meant to do it, then youโd be naturally good at it. You sign your kids up for little league, but you donโt take it too seriously unless they show remarkable early talent.
Yes, this sounds sort of ridiculous if you take it too literally. No, nobody is saying that thereโs any kind of practical test for this or that anybody should be excluded because we found out that they secretly studied too hard.
But this is a part of American culture. And if you canโt understand it, then that just marks you out as foreign to that culture to an even greater degree.
The best possible outcome for America is that Republicans lose thanks to nonwhite voters shifting hard against them. The racism problem will get better when there are actual consequences for being like this. https://t.co/FasePsVTLE
@realPrestonHill Read @RealSKeshel recent post about prediction markets, now who knows what will happen, but it's not an impossible theory to think about.
