After running unopposed for Executive Affairs Vice President, Bailey Henderson looked to the future.
"It is now time to transition from great ideas to start working on those platforms and ideas," Henderson said. "That’s what students actually want."
While Ryusei Best Hayashi did not win a seat, he noted his team put up a "good fight."
"I’m feeling proud of my team and how well we did," Best Hayashi said. "I think that even though we didn't get the results we hoped for, it was definitely a good learning experience."
Hitesh Kamisetty, who did not win, noted his disappointment, as there is no purely STEM focused candidate.
"I would like to see a focus on STEM, specifically the EECS funding crisis," Kamisetty said. "I would like to stay involved in both the ASUC and ESC"
Bridgette Meshkani said it felt great winning a senate seat noting the "hard work and dedication" it took.
"I think everyone learned a lot about themselves and gained experience, whether they were elected or not," Meshkani said. "Running a campaign ... takes a lot of courage."
#ASUCtabs2022 Yasamin Hatefi also won a senate seat, and said that while she did not expect to do as well as she did, she "feels amazing."
Hatefi said "I think it shows that the transfer community is very strong and it's time we have more representation in ASUC."
Now incumbent Senator Deena Ali noted she was excited because right now is "the start of a lot of new things." She also commended everyone who ran, saying they "did a really great job." #ASUCtabs2022
Aileen Sanchez, our next ASUC Transfer Representative, said she is "so grateful" she can uplift normally unheard students as a "Latina, first gen, low income transfer student." #ASUCtabs2022
