@MinkByte@Zevered18@Roblox_RTC Wow. Average Schlep fans going around and accusing random people of being pedophiles. If this is the kind of fan base somebody like that cultivates then I question if protecting kids was ever truly the #1 priority.
@LordYoshiZ Honestly I don't really care about the Parlo situation, that isn't the part of the doc I was interested in nor the most alarming. The 48 page one plus the one authored by Grady regarding Ace was the nail in the coffin for me. Unless you have proof Parlo and Grady are the same??
@nathanbailey129@p9cker_girl As far as I've seen and have been told he didn't go about it in the right way, hence the removal from the platform to begin with. The doc, if it's to be believed (which the evidence shown is super compelling), would go to prove that as well.
@dsx10727458@ChickCraft38222@RobloxNewsroom I'll help speed things up for you so you can come to a conclusion now. I'm a game developer, and I'm still getting forwarded reports from players of people being weird with children in my game. This is after age verification update.
@24KaratGoldX@Andrewnathana17@Bloxy_News We know that it's likely because of state/governmental acts/regulations because the trading group that Roblox belongs to called NetChoice has been fighting multiple states on the grounds that these acts/regulations are often unconstitutional.
@24KaratGoldX@Andrewnathana17@Bloxy_News Big companies like Roblox are in lawsuits all the time. A civil lawsuit from the family of a child is a constant for them, it's not anything for them to worry about and these lawsuits are typically incredibly slow.
@ArawDev@Blinding_One@Bloxy_News "How is it flawed guys? I can't see it, it verified me as a young child even though I'm an adult... B-But... What do you mean adults who are preying on children can get verified as a child, interact exclusively with children of specific age groups, and no adult can see the chat?"
@Jo21Jo2009@Bloxy_News@Roblox I'm not sure what update you got but this doesn't protect under 18s from creeps at all. Creeps can now target specific age demographics and ensure they're 100% correct. Not in the right demographic? No problem, they can just buy accounts. And the adults that report cannot see it.
@Andrewnathana17@Bloxy_News I'm sorry to burst your bubble here, but this update doesn't protect them from lawsuits at all. There's very widespread knowledge that it doesn't do anything to protect children, and actually worsens the problem. That's a bombshell for people suing them, not for Roblox's defence.
@Blinding_One@Bloxy_News My thought exactly too. Even people that want to be able to chat will simply up and leave if they bothered to look into the 3rd party company they're using for this. Their terms are real sketchy and lets them get away with sharing your data to other 3rd parties.
@Bloxy_News It's interesting they're labelling this as a "test", but actively trying to get people to give them data prior to their "test". Real slick move.
@agitpopcorn@Dexerto So in this case, how can it be argued it hurts their efforts when there doesn't appear to be any such effort in the first place? I would agree if they showed effort; the problem is they don't and appear to target people that try to because they don't seem to.
@agitpopcorn@Dexerto Fair enough if they were actually catching the criminals themselves, but notice how there's no evidence of law enforcement or Roblox's own team really doing any sort of investigation into this sort of thing independently of it being reported by somebody like Schlep?
