Have a wide smile and warm fuzzy feels after reading @sandipr's lovely piece on his indie Chutney and how love, well, can exist quietly too. Sandip, your writing in Mint Lounge is a treasure! Thank you.
@Inismah18 Hey Hams! Look forward to hearing your thoughts. I didn't meet Kirthi, though I remember reading that she was going to be there - the days were packed and tiring :( I think she's also part of a team that runs a feminist leadership course which I did 2 years ago!
We see queering as more than just an adjective; it’s a verb, an action that involves questioning perspectives & challenging normative ways of being in the world. It goes beyond binaries of #gender and #sexuality to encompass a broader spectrum of experiences. #InPlainspeak
With Ramya and Vani’s appointment, we are formally adopting a co-leadership model that’s aligned with our work ethos and feminist values.
We are grateful for your love and support over the last 28 years and we hope to continue our journey with the same passion and commitment!
Prasad talks about parenting as a deaf person, the technology they use, the help that neighbours provide them, and battling the uncalled-for remarks from medical professionals. Happy Father's Day to all parents who work hard to advocate for themselves and their children every day
@aniphoebe This is amazing! I was in HK a few days ago but just saw your post... Would have loved to see your shop since I'm fond of looking at records and own a (currently non-functional) record player made in the 70s. Hope your place gets all the love records deserve :)
The concept of "returnless refunds"!
"Often the cost of shipping and processing a return is almost as large, if not larger, as the cost of the item itself. Occasionally, the product is damaged in transit and can’t be sold on. There’s an environmental cost too, from transportation and disposal."
'Returns' are a necessity when it comes to e-commerce, but they also incur a huge cost, monetarily and environmentally! Merely dissuading customers from returning products is not the solution because that assumes, on a blanket level, that all returns are bad and meaningless. That's not true, of course - a lot of returns are perfectly valid. And since e-commerce lacks real-time trials to really know if we are buying the right fit (particularly when it comes to clothes, shoes, etc.), returns become a necessity too!
Is there a way out? Should there be a charge/fee that customers need to pay for returns? Would that make consumers more conscious before returning something, in the sense that they may be even more thorough in the pre-purchase research?
