Sridhar Vembu announced that he will be disabling the user name based account feature in Arattai. According to latest Survey, 70% of Arattai users supported this move. Rest 3 were not sure
@ani2rimi@BuddyBangaramma Come, come. Let us show some sympathy for the intellectually weak cowards who can't back up their own position, but resort to cheap personal abuse instead. They are more to be pitied than censured.
If this man continues with the kind of genuine efforts he has shown on the ground, I will have no option but to vote for Congress in the next State election, even though my political beliefs are not aligned with his party's.
Bangalore has not seen good governance in over a decade now. I hope there will be visible change with him at the helm.
Hon’ble @krishnabgowda your drive to clear permanent footpath encroachments is commendable.
If any illegal daily or monthly collections by officials, Police, or BBMP staff are enabling such encroachments, please ensure a thorough investigation and take strict action against those responsible. Once these illegal collection networks are dismantled, footpath encroachments will not return, and pedestrians will benefit permanently.

This is a moment of reckoning for Bangaloreans. If we don't support @krishnabgowda now, we will lose any last hope of revival for the city.
Bangalore's old charm was about its walkable streets and giant trees dotting the roads on both sides. Today it's a dream to find such footpaths and roads.
The only way to make Bengaluru Great Again is to reclaim it's public spaces that has turned into garbage den.
For the first time we have a politician not just talking about it but working towards making the city livable with dignity. We all must support unconditionally...
Bengaluru has run drives like this before. They almost always die after the drive is finished.
The clearing over these ten days is the government's job, and they are doing it well. The photos this week will look great. ITPL Road, Ashoka Pillar, MG Road, Jayanagar, suddenly walkable.
Then the notices fade, nobody watches, and within two weeks the carts and the parked cars creep back onto the same footpaths. That is the pattern every single time.
So the job that falls on us as citizens is being part of the drive right now while it is live & beyond.
Let me explain;
Around 300 pedestrians die on Bengaluru roads every year because they get pushed off broken or blocked footpaths into moving traffic.
The Supreme Court has said walking on a proper footpath is a fundamental right. The state has set aside ₹70 crore to repair slabs and kerbs across all five zones. The intent is there.
Keeping the cleared footpaths as they are after the drive is the missing piece.
Here is where we come in.
If you are in Bengaluru, do not just watch from your phone.
Group up with your street, your RWA, your office floor. Walk your own stretch.
Photograph it today with the date on it. Talk to the vendors and shops directly, kindly, and help them move within their limits before the towing starts.
Then report every encroachment through the GBA channels, and report it evenly.
A parked Fortuner blocking the path is as much a crime as a tea cart. If we only point at poor vendors while posh showrooms and SUVs spill over, we deserve the footpaths we get.
Support the officers on the ground. They are outnumbered and they get abused daily. A few residents standing with them changes the whole tone of a clearance.
Then go back and check that same stretch on August 1. And September 1. Post the before and after. Tag the officials. Make walkability boring and permanent, not a ten day event.
We keep waiting for the city to fix itself. This is the rare moment the government actually trying.
If we show up, walk out into our own neighbourhoods, and keep showing up, Bengaluru slowly turns into the city it always should have been.
If you are near Whitefield and want to walk a stretch together this week, hit me up. :)
@sylviafernand@ajay43@Raja_Sw And you live in Mumbai but are giving gyaan about Bengaluru footpaths. Let's be a bit accomodating and put up with you, shall we?
@sylviafernand@ajay43@Raja_Sw Yes, let's walk on the roads so that we can be run over by the unruly cab drivers, the BMTC buses and the auto thugs, let's be a bit accommodating! Let's eat adulterated food cooked with domestic LPG which we can't get at home, let's be a bit accomodating! 🤦🏽♂️
@Ramdn25@Raja_Sw Exactly. And it's illegal use of domestic LPG for commercial purposes. With no safety and no checks. That's MY TAX MONEY going to these PARASITES
@Raja_Sw Speak for yourself, don't speak for everyone because you don't understand the issues. This kind of blind sympathy is the cause of the problem being perpetuated
@BuddyBangaramma The demographic that has no problem with forcing pedestrians to walk on the road, no problem with unhygienic and adulterated food, no problem with waste and litter, no problem with domestic LPG being used commercially, will obviously spit venom on pedestrians
@News18Kannada Good job, keep going and more importantly, follow through on the enforcement plan — monitoring, follow up visits and jail / stall seizure for violators. Unless the cost of offending is made very high, the parasites will come back
@MoPNG_eSeva@IndianOilcl@MoPNG_eSeva totally useless and incompetent and lazy response from you. Despite photographic evidence and exact location, you useless, lazy and incompetent people did absolutely nothing! And are asking me for the gas connection number of the illegal stall???
@IndianOilcl@MoPNG_eSeva@bbmpcommr@CPBlr
Highly unsafe & illegal use of a domestic Indane LPG cylinder by a roadside food vendor at Wind Tunnel Road Murugeshpalya Bengaluru directly opposite Gagan Vihar Air Force Camp. Huge safety risk on a public footpath.
@vishwas_rakho@dpkBopanna They all want to fight for "rights" only — no duties, no obligations, no taxes paid — yet they want "rights" that are paid for by OUR HARD WORK AND OUR TAXES!!!
They are nothing but beggars and parasites
