After our widows and orphans empowerment program yesterday, this poor widow ALILONU CHINASA HARRIETA pulled me aside. With tears in her eyes, she said she might not be alive to attend the next one. She sees no way out of her situation except if God comes for her.

She lifted her blouse and showed me the lump. She has cancer. She has spent the little she had on several tests, but some results she hasn’t even been able to collect because she lacks money to pay for them. The doctor says she needs urgent surgery and treatment, which will cost ₦2.8 million and above.

This woman is a widow with three young daughters. She lost her husband years ago. Her husband’s family has abandoned her because she has only girls. She was the only surviving child of her late parents, so she has no one else to turn to.

They started by saying poverty is a disease. You cheered. They said poverty is satanic, you cheered. They said poverty is a curse. You concurred and clapped.

Sensing you were getting bored with these lines, they came up with new ones to keep you in their spell. They are now saying that giving to the poor will make you poor. If you want to be rich, give to the anointed prophets.

They know you are too drunk on their hypnotic lies to notice that what they say is opposite of what our Lord and God said in the scriptures. You are the problem, they are just smart and crafty beneficiaries of the problem you create and perpetuate.

Now they are saying don't follow a poor pastor. Meanwhile the delusional fellow that said this was once a poor pastor and had followers then. He didn't tell them not to follow him back then. He has become rich, not by inventing anything or building any business, but from the tithes and donations of people and suddenly he is glorifying wealth.

Very soon they will say all poor people are witches and need to be burned or stoned to death. You will cheer them to your own death. People whose wealth come from the aggregation of the sacrificial contributions you make are spitting on your face and you are too dunse to notice.

Continue enabling these prosperity bandits by nodding your heads like agama lizards to their words. Continue urging them on with your applauses at their atrocious words. They are Merchants of poverty, they make their fortunes by creating a longing for wealth in you and convince you it will come by their prayers or declarations upon you as you 'sow' seeds into their anointing. They are at the table, you are on the menu. In fact, you are the menu.
