There is nothing wrong with planning a lesson on the day that you are teaching it.

I regularly come into school early when teaching stuff I haven’t taught before to plan.

As long as it’s planned, it’s your call.

I was recently told that I should consider (a) not doing my hair in two French braids and (b) adding grey highlights (like, seriously, what?!?!?) as a way to gain respect from both the students I teach and people I interview for my research work.
