Anthony Morrow says a 16-year old Steph Curry got bullied for an entire first half of a packed Charlotte Pro-Am game, turnovers, airballs, picked up full court, but came out after halftime and dropped 45 points
“They asked me what it was like seeing young Wardell before the world knew how good he was. He could always shoot like that. He just didn’t have the confidence yet.”
“We had a Pro-Am at the Grady Cole Center. In the first half, my two cousins who played at West Meck, they were bully guards. They were picking him up full court in a packed gym with Dell Curry sitting there. They were bullying him. He was turning it over. He was airballing. Then in the second half, I don’t know what happened.”
“I swear to God, man, if you’re from Charlotte, you know this is real. He had like 45 in the second half. I remember Dell was there, and as we were leaving, he told Steph, ‘Listen, I don’t know what happened to you in the second half, but play like that everywhere, anytime.’”
“‘I don’t care if you turn it over. I don’t care if you miss shots. Play like that.’ Steph was probably about 16 at the time. Maybe 16 or 17.”
Tony Allen says the Warriors used to be the Grizzlies' "little homies " back in the day until they completely took off 🚀 Allen credits Draymond Green as the X-factor who made it all work. Plus, Trevor Ariza weighs in on why Shaun Livingston was a total matchup nightmare! 🏀
Matt Barnes reflects on the no-flinch moment with the late Kobe Bryant:
“We laughed at it. I wanted to fight Kobe… I actually told him in our last interview… I really admired him as a man and as a player. He was always the bar because I missed MJ. So to be able to battle with him for so many years, have our incident, and then have him recruit me to the team… to go from teammates to brothers, and to share his last years with him was really special.”

Dame Shares Why He’ll Never Talk Trash To Steph Curry Again After Steph Dropped 62 On Him.
Damian Lillard: I’m never gonna say nothing backhanded weird about Steph.
Damian Lillard: He just came out and started hitting three after three.
Damian Lillard: He ended up having like 62… What kind of man would that be? I’m him.

Shumpert recalls the time Kobe told him “great game” before the fourth quarter… and then completely figured him out.
Shumpert: “I expected much more of a headache dealing with Kobe Bryant.”
Then Kobe walked over and said:
“Great game, young fella. Great game.”
I was confused. I was like:
“Nigga, it’s the fucking fourth quarter. What the fuck are you doing?”
Then Kobe started setting screens, forcing switches, picking his spots and getting open whenever he wanted.
I realized he already knew exactly what I was going to do.
Melo: “When Kobe says, ‘Good game,’ that means it’s over.”
I have to admit:
“I can't even continue to guard him because he knows I have to switch this.”
“He knows I have to do this. If I don't, he's gonna make me pay immediately.”
Kobe even started calling me a “bunny rabbit” because I kept jumping at his shot fakes.
“He wasn’t just beating me. He was playing chess with me.”
