@RnaudBertrand@adam_tooze I'm completely independent from the grid. I only knew about the great iberia grid failure when i saw it on facebook shortly before the internet failed too
@CandSCmagazine@SP_Charlesworth I think i saw this looking lonely and dejected at an auction in the late 90s, maybe Christies at Olympia or something. I'd love it now though!
@MadgeOrrity@Only9built@prieurdp According to General Sir Peter Edgar de la Cour de la Billière, former director of the SAS: driving forward into a parking space was almost a punishable offence. I'll take his word and reasoning (fast exit). Case closed
Testing the air-con today. Last year I rebuilt the system as it hadn't worked 20 years. Never worked on a/c before but seems to be still working just fine
Rough cut mowing with my 1971 Hayter 'Hayterette'. Cast aluminium deck and quality build you don't get anymore. Replaced the original engine last year and continues to run great!
@CalumDouglas1 My mother described a direct hit on the building opposite where they were living during the blitz, the silence after, the curtains floating to the floor. The bodies being carried from the ruins so impregnated with dust that they looked like statues
@TheStingisBack The end scene was filmed during a real 14th july parade adding to authenticity. What Fosythe does so well is make everything probable. The story does not change history and if the events of the story actually happened we would never know about it anyway!
