Today, students from @SufVAschools had the incredible opportunity to experience The @vaopera’s newest work, Loving v. Virginia, live at the Center for Performing and Production at Lakeland High School @CPPA_SPS @LHSCavs. This powerful opera tells the story of Richard and Mildred Loving, the couple at the center of the landmark 1967 Supreme Court case that struck down laws banning interracial marriage. Thanks to the support of the Suffolk City Fine Arts Commission, this unique and enriching experience was made possible—bringing the power of opera and history directly to the students.
