“why do people ship that???” translation: “this is my first fandom and i’m struggling to comprehend that not everything caters to my liking, i’m entitled af and can’t let people exist with different preferences than me”
Shipping culture is SO BORING right now. Everything is suddenly a problem. Non-canon stuff is evil. And God forbid you like a straight pair. I will sound like a grandma but back in the day we just cared for chemistry, vibes and where our imagination can take us and I miss that.
There’s a genre of person on the internet that can’t accept that something isn’t for them so they have to create some kind of moral reason for not liking something.
"i hate all hetships eww!!!" --> TRANSLATING 🤖🤖🤖 --> "I don't actually give a shit about the characters and their dynamics, all that matters to me are the labels I mindlessly assign them, I just want to pretend shipping queer ships is activism and that I am useful to society"
Fandom gooners are actually one of the nicest people you can meet in the community, they’re the exact opposite of the shipping side of the community lol.
So let me get this straight
When vas of a popular yaoi ship make things shippy or how a character talks shippy/flirty or goes "it was a little TOO implied" it's fine and "omg canon"
But when a va is happy she gets to talk to her boyfriend's character it's "bad" and "omg biased"
