1978: After Congress expelled Indira under Brahmananda Reddy's leadership, Indira formed her own faction to challenge the rival Congress faction and reclaim control of Congress party.

Then one Congress leader even called Indira as "Cancer"

This 1978 Brahmananda Reddy Congress claimed itself to be the real Congress. It was given the cow‑calf symbol, but it was also called Reddy Congress by Indira herself during the 1978 election campaigns, and even by Pranab Mukherjee (in a speech) years later.

1979: D. Devaraj Urs took over Brahmananda Reddy's faction

1981: The Election Commission #ECI recognised Indira Gandhi's faction as the official Indian National Congress.

Then Brahmananda Reddy returned to Congress.

1981: Sharad Pawar took over Congress (U) and renamed it Indian Congress (Socialist), or Congress (S).

1986: Sharad Pawar's Congress (S) merged back into the Congress

In 1987, a case was registered against #YSR for attacking an #Army officer (which he later, in his usual style, lied about and denied).

And the story has not even started on the faction killings and corruption of #YSR

#YSR got elected on a Reddy Congress ticket and eloped to Indira Congress within days. In fact, the word "eloped" is on record forever in the AP #Assembly records.

1984:
#YSR was the PCC President and supported the NTR-backstabbing Nadendla Bhaskara Rao, who was backed by @INCIndia and Indira Gandhi.

1985:
#YSR misappropriated Congress tickets and colluded with TDP candidates in some places to defeat Congress. YSR was unceremoniously removed from the PCC post.

To dethrone #CBN, #YSR and Sonia stoked this issue and then took Uturns.

And this hasn't even got to YSR's cheap history of #faction politics and #corruption.

Shocking and shameful. A ₹4.75 crore road built for the people of Ananthasamudram and Papakka Garipalle in Pullampeta mandal was torn up with a tractor by @YSRCParty leaders, just four days after it was laid. This is a road villagers waited years for.

Destroying public property out of spite is not politics, it is an arrogant attack on the people. Requesting Collector Tirupati and the district police to ensure strict action against those responsible and restore the road at the earliest.
