#ICAI to Embed AI & Data Analytics in CA Curriculum

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) plans to embed Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, and other emerging subjects into the CA curriculum to keep pace with evolving technological and professional changes.

Key Highlights

* ICAI will embed Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Analytics into the CA curriculum

* Subjects like ESG and Sustainability are also expected to be integrated

* ICAI has recently formed the Committee for Review of Education and Training (CRET)

* The committee will review the entire education and training structure

ICAI President’s Statement

ICAI President Prasanna Kumar D said that as technology is taking the front seat, AI and Data Analytics need to be embedded into CA subjects.

He stated:
“For an engineer, AI is a separate subject but for us, AI is not a subject. Without AI, no chartered accountant can survive. Be it in employment or in practice, AI is a must.”

CRET Will Review 4 Key Areas

* CA Curriculum
* Practical Training (Articleship)
* Soft Skills & Communication
* Assessment (Examinations)

Timeline

* CRET is expected to complete its work by December
* Recommendations will be released for public exposure
* Curriculum updates are expected to be implemented from 2028
