Communist Party of India (CPI) - has urged Chief Minister @CMOTamilnadu@TVKVijayHQ C. Joseph Vijay and the State government to ensure that Tamil Thai Vazhthu receives first place in all official government functions.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the @CpiTamilnadu said the swearing-in ceremony of the Chief Minister and Ministers had deviated from the long-standing Tamil Nadu government protocol of beginning official events with Tamil Thai Vazhthu and concluding with the National Anthem.
The party objected to Tamil Thai Vazhthu being placed third in the programme order, after โVande Mataramโ and the national tune, and termed it a violation of established State tradition. It also asked the government to explain who was responsible for the change in protocol.
The CPI urged the government to ensure that Tamil Thai Vazhthu is sung first during Mondayโs Assembly swearing-in ceremony and at all future government events.
