We are a non-profit organization that serves seniors in Douglas, Sarpy, Cass, Dodge and Washington counties assisting with Medicare and Homestead exemption.
Starting July 1, 2026, the new Medicare GLP-1 Bridge program means affordable innovation is finally within reach for eligible people with Medicare Part D.
For more information, contact VAS at 402-444-6617.
If your income for 2026 is below $23,940 ($32,460 for married couples), you may qualify for lower Medicare Part D prescription drug costs through the Extra Help program. It could pay to see if you qualify: https://t.co/S2rCWJFNRz or contact VAS at 402-444-6617.
SMP Scam Warning! If you are mailed a plastic Medicare card, don't "activate" it. Medicare is not sending plastic Medicare cards. This is a scam. If you get this letter, please report it to the SMP. Please contact VAS if you have any questions at 402-444-6617.
Do you know when to sign up for Medicare? Generally, you first become eligible 3 months before your 65th birthday, but when you need to sign up depends on several factors, including if you’re still working. For questions please contact VAS at 402-444-6617.
Remote patient monitoring (RPM) covers a wide variety of services a provider may offer to help monitor or assess certain chronic conditions.
If you see any RPM claims on your Medicare statement that you did not agree to, contact VAS @ 402-444-6617.
Happy 6/5! Most people become eligible for Medicare at 65 so we celebrate Medicare Fraud Prevention Week the week of 6/5 to help remember the steps to prevent, detect, and report Medicare fraud! #MedicareFraudPreventionWeek#MFPW
Download the SMP Medicare Tracker app to record what happens at health care appointments. Then compare what you have written with what is billed on the Medicare Summary Notices (MSNs) and/or Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).

Guard your Medicare card. Don’t give your Medicare number to anyone over the phone. Don’t text it. Don’t use it to sign up for “free” offers. Saying no is the best defense against scammers. #MedicareFraudPreventionWeek#MFPW
Do you know how to read a Medicare statement? If you don’t, this is a great time to learn!
Read your MSNs mailed every 12 months (anytime at https://t.co/zsTmzIAL1K) to find suspected fraud.

Thank you!
Today's spotlight--Homestead Exemption.
