The Plague is an idea.
The idea that the right community paired with the right resources (i.e. blockchain tech, great minds, and the network effect of the community, etc.) can create better business models, better governance systems, and ultimately.... possibly... a better society.
This idea -- although somewhat hazy now -- is no surprise to those that have been here since the beginning. For many, it is why you joined originally.
But the idea has gotten hazy. Not because of what we have done, but because of what we have focused on.
We need to paint the idea of this picture with more clarity.
To spread this idea - or to spread The Plague -- is our only "reason for being."
More on this to come.
Two years ago today @ThePlagueNFT was born.
We minted 11,000 Frogs for $100 each.
We gave ZERO WL to influencers or KOLs, and ZERO WL to alpha groups. In fact, nearly every WL we gave away was randomly picked from Twitter posts. This was a different kind of mint.
After mint we bought back 275 and burned them.
For the culture.
So today there are 10,725 Frogs.
Nearly 400 projects have had more secondary volume than we have had. The majority of all of those projects had a higher mint price.
And most of them are now dead.
But we are still here.
We are still here furthering our core mission, which is to create a widely recognized Web3 brand that "decentralizes opportunity" for its holders. And we have been doing just that.
Since mint we have given away hundreds of thousands of dollars.
- To charity
- To help individuals in our community
- In giveaways
We have helped others launch their own projects. Both inside and outside of our @TheFrogTank process. Many Frogs have landed jobs and/or forged great friendships because of our community.
We have also tried many things that have failed.
But we are still here.
Over the coming weeks we will deliver on the items many Frogs have been waiting for us to roll-out. Some of them are long overdue.
We will also deliver on things that the frogs did not know we were working on. I am looking forward to seeing the reactions once it all hits.
Two years in the books.
Thank you to all of you who have stuck with us.
Here is to many more🥂
Everybody's walking around thinking they have to have it all "figured out" younger and younger.. it's ridiculous.
Close your eyes til you're 29 and just focus on gathering as many experiences as you can.. You have so much time

Been thinking about this a lot over the last few weeks.
NFT founders better start facing up to some tough realities:
1⃣ Memecoins have siphoned off most of the speculative liquidity that used to be played with in NFTs.
Not all. But most.
In 2021 "Choose Rich" would have been an NFT project in 18 hours. This time it was a memecoin.
That is a big change.
2⃣ NFTs lost the narrative of being an asset used to accumulate ETH or SOL. Now they are seen as more likely to dissipate the ETH or SOL in your portfolio .
3⃣ In 2021 and the bullish periods of 2022, almost all the NFT trading was done on ETH. Now the liquidity is spread across SOL, Ordinals, ETH, SEI, etc.
4⃣ The market has seen all of the hype cycle founders leave a bunch of bag holders with nothing. Therefore the market is much more skeptical and thus less likely to buy your NFT.
So what should an NFT founder do?
✅Deliver a product of substance that people will want to be a part of.
✅Create opportunity for your holders.
✅Set realistic expectations. Moonbirds was never worth 40ETH. I pick on them because it is easy and obvious. But that statement is true for almost every NFT project that was labeled a "blue chip".
I believe when the dust settles from this bull market, there will be fewer, NOT MORE, NFT projects left that are thriving.
Frogs will be one of them.
