Zelda II: The Adventure of Link ⚔️✨🛡️
Zelda II needed an 80s anime fantasy poster, so I created it 🫡
Resharing this poster I drew as an image (previously as a video)
@KelvinAnim33908 Notice I said "export": usually, I draw my characters on a canvas 2x the size of their final export: Link's idle sprites were all drawn in a 800x800 px canvas, but exported to 400x400px. I do this to save space, and because it's way easier to draw on a larger canvas
@KelvinAnim33908 So, the first thing to consider is your game's primary resolution: mine is 1920x1080. Prototype your game with some placeholders until you figure out what sizes you like your sprites the best, then export your images to be around that same placeholders' size
Amano's work is so interesting because it's so proudly analog. You can see every pencil mark, brush stroke, even spots where you can tell the paper gave out from too much water. Mindblowing
This comic had been in the back-burner for over a year, and I have finally got to working on it during the past month. It just so happens to be on theme for Halloween, too. So it is a fitting time to share it.
Please enjoy and share your thoughts!

Use Mickey Mouse as a reference to draw Mario, and your life will never be the same.
Even if you swap the poses, it will still fell like Mario.
Similarly, use Goofy for Luigi.
Zelda 1 illustrations I've done back in 2023. Featuring Lynel fight and the Moblin who betrays Ganon and helps Link out. That's why it's a 'secret to everybody'.
What moments stand out to you when playing the first Legend of Zelda game?
