@markstani1 She was robbed of Gold. The best sailor didn’t win. Everyone knows that.
You need to find out who came up with appalling format and get a quote @iqfoiling
The Post Office has published the letter its CEO, Nick Read, wrote to the Government begging it not to pass legislation reversing all the Horizon convictions.
There are several very odd features to this correspondence.
8 years ago to this day @TheRising_Moon & I meet with @LordLucasCD for tea and scones. Our small talk was about VAT. What a journey that was. Who would have believed it. Thanks Richard & Ralph (Hope you don’t mind the informality Lord Lucas : )
When I say about the quiet success of the VAT, this is what I mean: *€20 billion a year* from reforms to adapt VAT to the digital economy. Revenue - doesn't even account for massive compliance/ efficiency savings.

@TheRising_Moon@EXEOX2@DanNeidle@Beherren@HowardDLeigh@LordLucasCD .@HMRCgovuk VAT Fraud alerts could easily (& cheaply) be automated via AI and computer systems looking a mean average values. Just integrate the database.
VAT Fraud = high registration at address + high defaults. The list is endless…
This case would have blown the doors off.
@TheRising_Moon@juliusoliveti@EXEOX2@HMRCgovuk Ahh yes, HMRC were clueless about the the scale of the fraud. We eventually had to publish a list of thousands of overseas sellers that were evading vat. Then HMRC used our site to track down the sellers.

Courts found eBay was not liable for sales of counterfeit goods, especially bc it honored requests to take down items identified as counterfeit. But SHOP SAFE would hold platforms liable for anyone selling counterfeit goods whether or not they knew https://t.co/fK85cwkAvM
@kirstenoswald This should have happened years ago. Very unlikely it’s going to happen anytime soon either. First step is to make Fulfilment houses ‘economic operator’ which will make them 3rd party liable
