Guyyyy. I've been staring at that guy's response since and didn't even know how to reply to his ignorance. Likeee. The whole issue is you holding the device in the first place and not what you were doing with the phone. Nobody holds their phone while driving, not even checking map (most people use Waze for navigation than Google Maps). Everybody gets a car phone holder for that. Heck, you're not even supposed to answer calls while driving, even you're using hands free.

There is a reason the theory test for driving includes hazard perception. It's for full focus and concentration on the road.
