@JRT228 @nicksortor Do you have any idea how many churches give not just money, but time to keep homeless shelters and food kitchens open? Churches feed the hungry and house homeless in their buildings. Not only in big cities but in rural areas also.

@darnell_do37263 @DerrickEvans4WV Genesis isn’t a bad place to start. And the rest of the Old Testament is well worth studying as there are many passages that point to the coming of Christ. But it is in books like Luke and John that you read about Jesus life, death, and resurrection.

@AshFarms Find the Christian radio station in your area. Start listening to that. Their web site should have suggestions of churches in your area. Attend worship services, but also look for small Bible studies at the church or in homes. It is good to visit several churches.

@red_wave_surfer @benonwine Please don’t try to read it cover to cover. Maybe start with the book of John. And finding a study group thru a church is an excellent way to learn.

@gatorgar I suggest you visit several churches. Read their statement of faith to learn what they believe. Do they teach from the Bible or other resources. Where are they on social issues?
Once you think you have a good fit, look for a way to be involved in small group Bible study.

@Brink_Thinker Yes in the 60-70. BUT…We knew the neighbors. Many moms were at home. The parents talked and any parent would call you out and report why to your parent. If a different parent sent you home, you went. Somebody was going to be sharing that info with your parents.
