Has the international community been fair to #Rwanda over the past 60 years?
In the 1960s, when #Kagame was just four years old, he and his family were hunted down, forced to flee, and became refugees in the region. This was the legacy of #Belgium 🤔, which had successfully divided #Rwandans into Tutsi, Hutu, and Twa through ID cards.
The international community’s response?
The UK, EU, Belgium, and others never cared. They took no action against #Habyarimana to allow refugees to return home. Instead, they were content with Rwandans living in refugee camps for 30 years (1960–1990) in the region.
In 1990: @PaulKagame and fellow #Rwandans took their fate into their own hands—fighting for their country, their right to a dignified life, and an end to their refugee status. The liberation war lasted four difficult years.
The international community’s role?
They sent UN peacekeepers (UNAMIR~similar to MONUSCO in DRC today).
While knowing the genocide against the Tutsi was being prepared, some European countries even trained and supported the perpetrators of the #Genocide.
In 1994: When the genocide reached its peak, the perpetrators killed 10 UNAMIR personnel. Suddenly, #Belgium pressured the entire UNAMIR force to withdraw from #Rwanda—because, to them, 10 peacekeepers were more important than one million Tutsis slaughtered in just three months. By leaving, Belgium paved the way for the genocide to continue.
After 1994: Rwandans were once again forced into refugee camps in #Zaire (now DRC).
💪It was only @PaulKagame who decided that #Rwandans were not meant to live as refugees. He led the effort to bring them home and rebuild a secure nation for all.
The international community’s reaction?
They weren’t happy. Some Western countries armed and supported the #FDRL to maintain insecurity in #Rwanda, hoping to create refugees once again—because war and displacement fuel business.
💪In 30 years, @PaulKagame has ensured #Rwanda remains secure, with no Rwandan refugees anywhere in the world.
Meanwhile, the international community…
They continued fostering instability in the eastern DRC, protecting FDRL in a failed state, and—surprise!—UN peacekeepers (MONUSCO) returned in the region.
The result?
More killings of Tutsis and Kinyarwanda-speaking people, and, once again, countless refugee camps in the DRC.
Rwanda’s crime’?
#Rwanda keeps disrupting the business model of the international community and the West. They don’t want 100% secure borders—because instability means jobs for MONUSCO, and a failed DRC is a profitable playground with zero accountability.
Will the international community change its ways? Never.
What does #Rwanda need now?
1.Strengthen our core ideals: 100% secure borders, zero genocide ideology in the region, and ensuring no #Rwandan is ever a refugee again.
2.Take both defensive and offensive measures—economically, politically, and militarily—because there is no other option.
3. With @PaulKagame and @rpfinkotanyi, no sanctions can threaten #Rwanda. We have the experience and resilience to withstand anything #Together

Rwanda urges the UN Human Rights Council to take swift action against ethnic persecution in the DRC
“The suffering of these people cannot be tolerated any longer. Ethnic politics has no place in our region,” Minister Olivier Nduhungirehe.
“Rwanda was left for dead 30 years ago under the watchful gaze of the same ‘International Community’ we’re told to delegate all matters of national security to. Fortunately, we’re better students of history”

The Western media have been attacking Kagame for the last 30 years, I am used to it.
But these days? Europeans, British, and French amplified their attacks on him.
As an African, if I see Europeans and Americans attacking someone he/she is probably doing something right!
