Imagine running a business for 10 years, collecting and paying 18% GST exactly as required.

A decade later, a "clarification" arrives saying the correct rate was actually 28% all along.

Now you're told to pay the additional 10% GST for the last 10 years, retrospectively.

That's essentially what happened in the RMG case.

Whatever your view on the industry itself, retrospective tax demands arising from later "clarifications" should concern every business in India.

For all its history India truly has failed in becoming an international travel destination for Europeans and East Asians.

Spent the last week coaching 15 under confident people around a high anxiety problem in their life. Only it was not me, it was an AI agent. And I’m not a domain expert in that problem . Yet most of them seem happier with it than the experts they follow and ask help from. If you are willing to take AI for what it is “intelligence”, and not worry too much about the “artificial” , it is almost certainly a better guide and coach than 90% of experts out there.

A single adult child A marrying another single adult child B and having a single child C of their own = NO extended family for C after grandparents die.

No uncles, no aunts, no cousins.

Now if A and B themselves die relatively young, C would be left all alone....

Tough to imagine, but it's a reality given the current trend of having single kids.
