Forever. Through 2Pac, #TheBeatWithin is born. Through death, poets are born. There's another passing legacy, a man who shared a moment, a cig with Pac. Dave Inocencio, founder of The Beat. I think of both, always. Intertwined by a love for youth & Hip Hop, our language arts.
Today we honor the life and legacy of Tupac Shakur on what would have been his 55th birthday. Pac was a visionary whose words challenged the world, sparked conversations, and gave a voice to the unheard. His impact remains timeless, and his legacy continues to live on.

Books don’t change who we are—they remind us who we’ve always been. In Part 4 of Building Communities, Dwayne Betts reflects on why people in prison are drawn to books: the same reasons anyone else is- to meet others, to be known, to feel less alone. #FreedomReads#prison#books
