The weight room isn’t for everyone. Then again, neither is playing time, winning, or building strength.
The weight room is a place where you go to get better and build mental resilience.
It’s not just about putting up numbers. It’s about putting time in to be your best‼️
Corey Comperatore’s daughter posted a heartbreaking statement about his final heroic actions:
“The media will not tell you that he died a real-life super hero.
They are not going to tell you how quickly he threw my Mom and I onto the ground.
They are not going to tell you that he shielded my body from the bullet that came at us”
This man gave his life for his family and his beliefs
Corey is a true American Hero🫡🇺🇸
1. A coach calls a club or HS coach and says something like “we have a scholarship for a setter. Is So-and-So happy where’s she playing?” If this is coming from a top tier program it may end with something like “she could win a national championship with us.”
Is this what we want our sport to be? Do we want to follow in the steps of some other high profile sports that have this reputation? Is cheating the rules to win what we want to role model?
What is tampering? I’ll give some examples.
Div I Women’s VB is one of the worst sports for “tampering” in recruiting. I challenge our coaches, club & HS coaches, & parents w/ the question:
I learned something at our National Volleyball Coaches convention that bummed me out… And it is time we talk about it.
Here goes (my first ever) thread.
🏆Hey student-athletes….Success doesn’t happen by mistake!
☑️Show up daily.
☑️Be coachable.
☑️Be willing to change your mindset.
☑️Eat well & stay hydrated with proper nutrition.
☑️Train smart & follow your strength coach’s instructions.
☑️Put the phone down and get the proper sleep you need.
☑️No those “friends” who pressure you to skip workouts, stay up late, drink on the weekends, and get you into trouble aren’t your friends.
☑️You won’t be an athlete forever put your academics FIRST!!
☑️Be a role model to the youth and remember you’re blessed to compete. Not everyone gets that opportunity or privilege.
Want to be your best⁉️
The food +💦 you put in your body directly influences:
💥Energy, cognition, and focus
💥Muscle growth and muscle recovery
💥Risk of injury, illness, and ability to recover
💥Speed, power, agility, strength, and stamina
Nutrition is your secret weapon TM‼️
If you have an athlete that won’t;
✔️Eat breakfast
✔️Hydrate with 80-100 oz
✔️Consistently lifting/training
✔️Getting 7-9 hours of sleep
✔️Hitting protein/carbs at meals and snacks
They are self-sabotaging by not following through with basics they know they NEED to do. 🔥
