I think a lot of folks on the left see this like I saw the gay marriage issue: Regardless of how one might feel about it, it was a losing issue for R's. And it is better that the debate on it just be disposed of for good. Many folks on the left know 2A is a losing issue for them. And the longer they drag it on, the more active we get about it. Being anti-2a is an anchor around their necks.
While community good will is a thing, how does this actually look on the street? If a cop tries to stop a kid riding a bike wearing a helmet, and the kid decides to run, does that become Reasonable Articulable Suspicion? Is it now a lawful Terry stop?
I would much rather our cops stick to policing, rather than end runs around the 4th amendment disguised as Good Will. π«€
@ScottPresler The whole issue is overblown. This seems like the current iteration of garden variety torches-and-pitchforks NIMBYism. Let's put this energy into a much more important issue, which is the need to DEFLOCK the US.
This exactly. This is such an important message, I wish it had been better executed. It's like it aspired to be Death Wish meets John Wick, but the story was just too disjointed to deliver.
If this film had been well executed, it absolutely could have been a cultural rallying cry. See 'Sound of Freedom'.
I just added a third one to our household. 2023's are the best bang for the buck. Later model years had lowers capacity onboard inverters. If you can catch one still under factory warranty, you can add Ford's extended warranty for up to 150k miles. Granger Ford online is the best price for that warranty (well known on the f150 lightning forums).
Ford's Bluecruise is not as capable as Tesla Autopilot, but it's pretty decent for hands free highway travel.
Check out the (now discontinued) F150 Lightning. It actually checks a lot of boxes. It hasn't completely replaced my old F350 SD, but it has become my daily driver and covers most of those responsibilities. And having a 30a/240v twistlock in the bed tied to a 131kwh battery definitely opens new avenues of usefulness.
Of course there's room for improvement. But for a first go at it, this thing is a pretty viable option for a lot of ranch-type tasks. And not being at the mercy of whims of the mullahs sure is nice. I can't grow diesel on my roof. (Although I have made biodiesel from WVO before)
