(she/her) Director of Government Affairs for Frederick County Executive Jessica Fitzwater • Maryland progressive • Washington College alum • MPP Oregon State
Larry Hogan is the first governor in MD history to have made millions while in office. Amazingly, nearly 40% of all affordable housing awards Hogan’s team approved went to six clients of his own real estate firm, from which he never divested. What’s going on here?
For years reporters always call him “popular Larry Hogan” — my bet was the people who liked him best were the clients of his firm he enabled to make millions. This never should have happened. https://t.co/o2rXmGjePU
You may wonder - who is paying for all those annoying and deceptive ads opposing @AngelaAlsobrooks? I looked it up. "Maryland's Future" funded by out of state MAGA Republican $$$ is flooding our platforms. It is a deceptive effort to boost Larry Hogan.
It’s a beautiful day to celebrate steps @FredCoGovMD is taking with @MDEnergy funds to build climate justice in Frederick County! So proud of this team!
Birds of a feather do flock together, and Larry Hogan is no exception. As a lifelong Republican, he supports a party known for its extreme views since he was a kid.
As we approach this pivotal election, remember that the future of our Senate, and our values are at stake.
Let’s not forget that people of all genders rely on access to reproductive rights including abortions. Language matters - especially when we are talking about healthcare and bodily autonomy!
Frederick County agencies are working together to crack down on businesses that support criminal enterprises. County Executive Jessica Fitzwater announced legislation to make it more difficult for illegal activity to occur at bodywork establishments.

Today I had the privilege of speaking in support of bills HB 503 and SB 586- a bill that will make our buildings safer through strong CSST standards.
Thank you to @BenBrooksSr and @DelDanaStein for leading the charge on these critical bills.
I’m so proud to have the SUPPORT of county & city leaders all across the state for Just Cause Eviction - HB 477! The bill authorizes counties & Baltimore City to enact just cause provisions that require landlords to provide a reason when they choose not to renew a lease.
So, no shock that @jessfitzwater was a great guest (and a good sport), but this is a must-listen on content- really interesting and timely policy dilemma. #MDpolitics#MDGA24
