Department of Agricultural Engineering, N. M. College of Agriculture, has achieved a significant milestone by securing a Design Patent for its innovative "Solar Photovoltaic Operated Seed Coating Machine Assembly."
This low-cost, eco-friendly technology reflects the department’s commitment to developing sustainable, farmer-centric agricultural solutions through research and innovation. By harnessing clean solar energy for efficient seed treatment, the innovation contributes to the advancement of climate-smart and sustainable agriculture.
Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor Dr. T. R. Ahlawat appreciated the dedicated efforts of the department and congratulated the research team for this notable accomplishment. Dr. P. B. Patel, Principal and Dean, NMCA also extended his congratulations to the researchers.
The patented innovation was developed by a team comprising of Dr. Vipul Shinde, Head of the Department; Dr. Manjushree Singh, Ex-faculty of the Department; Dr. Ashish Sonawane, Assistant Professor, Er. Shubham Dhakad, SRF; and Er. Het Tandel, TA.

Introducing NAU-ETAS (Exam Timetable Automation System)
Under the visionary leadership of Dr. Timur Ahlawat, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, NAU, the university continues to set new benchmarks in academic excellence, governance, and digital transformation. As part of this commitment, the Exam Timetable Automation System (NAU-ETAS) was officially inaugurated, marking a significant advancement in the automation of academic processes.
In pursuance of the directions received from the Hon’ble Governor shri of Gujarat, Navsari Agricultural University is committed to observing “No Vehicle Day” every Monday across the University campus and affiliated colleges.
This initiative also aligns with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s appeal to conserve fuel, reduce carbon emissions and adopt environmentally responsible practices for a sustainable future. The initiative is not only beneficial for the environment but is also in the larger national interest by promoting responsible energy consumption and sustainable development.
The observance of “No Vehicle Day” aims to promote:
✅Fuel conservation
✅Environmental sustainability
✅Reduction in pollution and carbon footprint
✅Healthy lifestyle practices
✅Awareness about eco-friendly transportation
✅Preference for online meetings and virtual interactions wherever feasible, instead of travelling in person using vehicles
Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor has also appealed to all students, faculty members, officers and staff to adopt digital platforms for meetings and official interactions wherever possible, thereby minimizing unnecessary travel and contributing towards environmental conservation.
Students, faculty members, officers and staff are encouraged to use bicycles, walk, carpool, public transportation on Mondays and other days wherever feasible.
