WARNING: Stealing floating blue polyurethane sheets from the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool is a crime. It is still government property.
Unrelated: I’m selling one inch square blue polyurethane memorial squares if anyone is interested.
A tech exec making a million dollars stops paying into Social Security in March. A school teacher pays in every single paycheck all year long. That’s the rigged system.
Make the wealthy pay their fair share and Social Security is saved.

If you can’t tax billionaires and trillionaire because “its unrealized gains until they cash out,” then stop letting them leverage that wealth for loans, as collateral, or as equity.
If it’s not real enough to tax, it shouldn’t be real enough to leverage.
This is why we say the system is rigged in favor of the super wealthy. Abolish billionaires, tax them out of existence, protect working people.
Scott Jennings wrote this on the afternoon of January 6, 2021.
Back when he was a real patriot.
“This is literally an insurrection.
“President Donald Trump caused this insurrection with his lies and conspiracy theories about the election process being rigged against him. It was not stolen, but this madness was fomented by the President and his top advisers over the past several months.”
“Let me be clear: These rioters are not Republicans. These are not conservatives. These are not patriots bursting into the US Capitol, accosting police officers and destroying public property.
“These are domestic terrorists, and they ought to be treated like any other terrorist uprising with the full force and fury of the US government.”
A yellowjacket in June is a fairly docile pest controller. A yellowjacket in late August wants to fight you for a soda. Same insect, but the colony has changed.
All summer, the workers hunt protein. Caterpillars, flies, and other garden pests get chewed up and fed to the larvae back in the nest. In return, the larvae provide the adults with a sugary secretion that fuels the workers.
So all season those workers are out killing the bugs eating your tomatoes because that's how they feed the babies that feed them. A single colony removes thousands of pest insects.
Then late summer arrives. The colony reaches peak population. The queen shifts from producing mostly workers to producing males and next year's queens. Fewer larvae remain, and as those larvae pupate, the workers lose much of their built-in sugar supply.
Now you have a huge population of aging wasps searching for carbs wherever they can find them. Fallen fruit, hummingbird feeders, your picnic, your soda, anything sweet. They're not suddenly mean. They're just hungry, unemployed, and nearing the end of their lives.
You'd be itching to fight for a piece of candy too.
By winter, the old queen, workers, and males are dead. Only newly mated queens survive to start fresh colonies the following spring, and old nests are almost never reused.
A nest tucked away in a field corner or high in a tree is doing free pest control for a few more weeks, then it's gone.
The nests worth dealing with are the ones in doorways, walls, or places where people, especially anyone with a severe allergy, could be at risk.
This has been litigated, audited, recounted, certified, investigated, and debunked for years. “We have files” is not evidence. If there were proof capable of changing the 2020 result, it would have survived court scrutiny, state audits, recounts, or Trump’s own Justice Department. It didn’t. What he is doing now (or will do in the future) is not investigating the election; it is re-litigating reality until his supporters accept the answer he wants.
The idea vaccines cause autism was invented by Andrew Wakefield in 1998 and was so thoroughly debunked he lost his license for gross malpractice
And here we are 27 years later RFK Jr dredging up the same nonsense
Such a tiresome waste of time
Some thoughts on the new Epstein Files revelations:
I’ve now read everything that’s come out from the new Haberman and Swan book, and the thing I keep coming back to is the Situation Room. They held multiple meetings in the Situation Room about the Epstein files. That room is for war. It’s for national security emergencies. It is not for figuring out how to spin a scandal you’re telling the country is a hoax.
While the President was deflecting or calling this old news, his own Vice President and Chief of Staff were huddled in the most leak-proof room in America because they knew how bad it really was.
You don’t take a nothingburger to the Situation Room.
And I have to be honest, reading all this brings back a lot of frustration about what happened in the House of Representatives. I sat there and watched Mike Johnson send the House home early to dodge a vote on releasing these files. I watched him refuse to swear in a duly elected colleague for months just to stall the discharge petition. Month after month of excuses, arm twisting, and procedural games, all to keep this information from the public. We only got the files because survivors, families, and a handful of members in both parties simply refused to let it go.
So when people ask me why I talk so much about transparency and accountability, this is why. The truth eventually comes out. It always does.
The only question is whether your leaders helped reveal it or helped bury it.
Everyone who voted to keep these files hidden should have to answer for that.
Finally, notice what’s missing from all of this is any sign that Trump’s DOJ will actually investigate the powerful men named in these files.
Draw your own conclusions about why a Justice Department run by the President’s former defense lawyers might not be eager to pull that thread.
It’s not about arguments. It’s about facts.
I know one great fact about American elections, and I know it because the Republican Party has proved it to me:
There is no election fraud of any consequence anywhere in the United States.
The Republican Party and its allies, FOR DECADES, have been searching high and low, in every corner of our country, for evidence of election fraud.
This effort has been made with vast sums of money and other resources, and with some of the greatest powers in our nation at the party’s disposal:
A presidential commission under President Donald Trump.
The Department of Justice under President Donald Trump, armed with the resources of the FBI, and the powers of subpoena.
Committees of Congress under Republican control, also armed with the powers of subpoena and the investigative resources of the first branch of government.
State legislatures under Republican control, also with subpoena powers, have launched similar efforts to find evidence of election fraud.
Republican-controlled states have set up special commissions and task forces, some with subpoena powers, all well-funded and with access to the state’s electoral systems.
Conservative academics and think tanks have launched projects seeking out evidence of election fraud.
Fox News and the rest of MAGA media have dedicated significant resources to finding evidence of election fraud.
What is the result of this enormous Republican effort to find election fraud?
Ask The Heritage Foundation.
For nearly a decade, Heritage has maintained an “Election Fraud Database.”
The database contains “proven instances of election fraud.”
It covers elections going back nearly fifty years.
That’s billions and billions of American votes.
Right now, the total number of proven instances of election fraud that Heritage can document is:
1620.
That’s an infinitesimal number, vanishingly small, and it is solid proof of two things:
1. Some individuals commit election fraud.
2. There is no evidence at all of systemic or even widespread election fraud anywhere in the USA.
The election-fraud panic is the Big Lie of our time.
It is peddled by people who know better. Their own investigations over decades demonstrate that.
Stop trying to subvert our democracy.

Hi, Donald. Midcoast Mainer here.
You did not, in fact, “have to go to Japan” to get a Maine lobster before you. We sold millions. Our lobster fishery is one of the most valuable in the U.S.
It’s a big reason why people come here, in case you didn’t know!
If anything is hurting our lobstermen, it’s inflation (which you apparently “love”).
Also, exactly *zero* Maine fishermen run their boats at three knots. More like 30 knots—and some go even faster. You should check out a lobster boat race sometime!
I think it might be time for one of your famous Oval Office naps, because you have ZERO idea what you’re talking about.
