A very sad day in the music world, as we report the death of the legendary Tina Turner, who passed away today at the age of 83 after a long illness.

For years, the Stardust Nightclub in Wildwood, NJ was a pretty big deal to say the least. This picture of the Schellenger Avenue giant was taken back in 1989. Today, the building has begun getting demolished, leaving only memories for those that enjoyed the club in its heyday.

This morning, we remember the man who taught America how to count to 40, backwards! Casey Kasem was born on this day in 1932. Whether you know him best from American Top 40, as Shaggy, Cliffjumper, Dick Grayson/Robin or “the voice of NBC”, his solid legacy continues today.

37 years ago today, the infamous nuclear accident at Chernobyl occurred in Ukraine. It is one of two nuclear power plant accidents rated 7 on the International Nuclear Event Scale, the maximum possible rating. (The other accident happened during the Fukushima disaster in 2011.)

As you may have noticed, I haven’t been on the air for a few weeks. Due to some things going on, I have decided to take a temporary hiatus, and will return this fall. I will however begin doing regular entries on social media to keep it up to date until the show relaunches.

As I said last week at what would have been the start of my show (lol), this week there is no episode because of Spring Break. I’ll be back next Tuesday night! Meanwhile I’m celebrating turning level 42 today!

Today, you may see some memes telling you about the time change. Cher gets very mad when you turn back time if you’re supposed to spring it forward! (In other words, clocks go forward 1 hour tonight if you participate in daylight saving time, which the broadcast area does.)

The backup power would most likely have only lasted for about an hour or two, plus the school was evacuated. Everything is back up and running! Because of Spring Break, we will return March 21st at our regular time.

So a quick explanation about the sudden lack of show the other night! Just as @Musictalks1079 was ending his show and I was about to segue way into mine, we had a power failure. The main computer was on backup power but the external hard drive that contained the music was not.

Due to a power failure at the station and Atlantic Cape Community College, tonight’s show has been canceled. All classes at ACCC have been canceled for tonight. Stay tuned to this spot for more details.

We also shared our very first two live performances aired on the shows anniversary special! Cyndi Lauper singing “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” on The Tonight Show, and Patti LaBelle performing “New Attitude” on the Sisters In The Name Of Love special!

On this weeks anniversary show, I shared the very first two audio artifacts that I featured on day one! Jane Rossi’s version of “In the Year 2525” gave it a more danceable sound, and “Floating City” by Y Kant Tori Read is actually Tori Amos on vocals!
