This week we are featuring VCSU Facilities Services! They all work so hard to keep our campus safe, clean, and looking nice. Show your appreciation toward our FS crew when you see them out today! Also... they're hiring student workers! Apply at https://t.co/ahWOg2LtMU.
The one piece of advice Bree would give to any student considering an internship would be, "have clear goals and leadership expectations lined out before starting."
What a great experience! Check out all of Bree's social media work at @wardcoplπ
Say hello to our #FeatureFriday summer intern, Bree Raines!
π Hometown: Kenmare, ND
π Senior at VCSU
Bree spent her summer as a Social Media Manager at the Ward County Public Library.
Bree says the entire internship was a blast, but the best parts were getting to know her coworkers and learning that the content she was creating managed to keep pace with the library's main competitor, despite their having over 4,000 more page likes. What a huge accomplishment!
The most memorable time for Connor was intern week in Thief River Falls, where got to meet all of the other interns and even the CEO! The interns had social events, attended workshops, and toured the facilities.
Thanks for sharing your awesome experience with us, Connor!
Connor says this internship showed him how the things he learned at VCSU are used in real world situations. He was able to use many of the skills learned at VCSU throughout this experience!
Seeing all the young community learn how to fish and drive/launch boats is something she will never forget. Brooke also says, "you can never be too thorough inspecting a boat."
Thanks, Brooke, for helping keep our ND waters clean! π
Brooke's tasks included inspecting boats going in and out of the water for aquatic nuisance species, clearing aquatic vegetation away from the boat ramps, and educating the public. Her goal with all of these tasks was to help stop/reduce the spread of these species in ND waters.
