More info is coming out on #Xbox studios hit with heavy layoffs.

A staggering 50% of ID Software has been laid off, plus 25% of Obsidian too.

It's possible over the coming months and year, the true number of layoffs outweighs the reported PR figures, just as the last round of layoffs far exceeded the initial PR numbers too.

With regards to the culling of studios who's game sales floundered, as I've said before, Game Pass sales cannibalisation coupled with poor Xbox marketing, is likely going to keep lending to games underperforming sales wise, and studios continually paying the price for what is ultimately Xbox strategy blunders.

It simply isn't fair on the studios, and I hope for their sakes more can gain independence instead of continually being culled and diminished under Xbox.

If Graham Platner does drop out in time to name a replacement (and that looks far from certain), it would be anti-democratic in the extreme to nominate some establishment hack with Janet Mills' politics rather than the agenda Maine voters ratified when nominating Platner.
