If 12L is tax free then how come with just additional 50k per month, a tax payer has to pay tax at 32% rate?

Surprisingly many are paying higher tax today than 2014.

Is he aware of old & new regime, exemptions & deductions, surcharge, 87A etc? I doubt.

The FSSAI has all the High Fat High Salt High Sugar foods(HFSS) displayed in it's office(including chocos), and is asking it's employees to cut down on those. Why is the delay in warning the people of India about the same??!! Why the delay in FOPL warnings??!!

In healthcare, even small confusion can have serious consequences.

I have raised concerns about how commercially marketed electrolyte drinks are being communicated in pharmacies — and the risk this creates during dehydration, when decisions are made quickly.

Key concerns:
• Risk of being perceived as equivalent to ORS (the medically recommended solution)
• Concerns around ingredients like sucralose being given everyday to chidren, by default, and to adults too.

After raising these concerns, a legal notice has been issued to her by Kenvue and Johnson&Johnson.

It is so heartening to see the change that has come. In two thirds of the pharmacies, people were given the WHO recommended formula ORS when people asked for ORS(the sachets/tetrapacks).
Remember that sachets are preferred to tetrapacks
Use ORS only when needed. It is not to be given every day. Only for rehydration during diarrhoea, vomiting, heat injury(when you spend a lot of time in the sun), fever etc. Do not give if there is Kidney failure or non stop vomiting. Go to the emergency in that case.
The contents of 4.1 to 4.4 grams sachets in 200ml water and those of 20.5 grams sachets in 1 litre water. Clean drinking water. Discard after 24 hours.

It is also sad to see Electrochoice being handed out as ORS in the Apollo pharmacies and eRZL as ORS in some pharmacies. eRZL being marketed as the new form of ORSL is a gross violation of the FSSAI order. ETORS and Electrofit with ORS on its label are other tetrapacks which are violating the FSSAI order.

I am shocked and traumatized by the misinformation being fed to you in various groups. I am not in any groups to even give you my version.

1. You are being told that I am expecting IAP to support me in the defamation case. NO. I AM NOT. I AM PERFECTLY CAPABLE OF DEFENDING MYSELF.
I ASKED IAP TO CONDEMN THE NOTICE LIKE HOW OTHER ORGANISATIONS CONDEMNED THE NOTICE SO THAT COMPANIES DO NOT BULLY DOCTORS SPEAKING UP FOR PUBLIC HEALTH.
I HAVE ASKED IAP TO CONDEMN KENVUE'S PUBLIC NOTICE SAYING IT'S SCIENTIFIC PRODUCTS WERE PRESENTED AT PEDICON. I ASKED IAP TO DO THIS SO THAT IAP'S RESPECT AND DIGNITY ARE PROTECTED. NO COMPANY WHICH PUTS UP A STALL IN PEDICON AFTER PAYING FOR THE CONFERENCE, SHOULD GO PUBLIC SAYING ITS PRODUCTS ARE SCIENTIFICALLY PRESENTED AT PEDICON!

PLEASE NOTE THAT eRZL IS BEING MARKETED AS THE NEW FORM OF ORSL (THE SUGARY ONE) VIOLATING THE FSSAI ORDER AND IS BEING HANDED OUT AS ORS AT THE GROUND LEVEL. I HAVE PROOFS FOR THAT TOO.

2. You are being told that I earn money through my social media channels.

A BIG LIE. MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL IS NOT A COMMERCIAL CHANNEL AND I HARDLY GET TIME TO POST, ANY WAY. THE ONLY WAY YOU EARN MONEY ON INSTAGRAM IS THROUGH ENDORSEMENTS, WHICH I DO NOT DO.

3. You are being told that I am doing what I am doing, for public attention.
IF YOU ASK YOUR CONSCIENCE, YOU WILL KNOW THAT NO ONE WILL WRITE TO THE AUTHORITIES AND IAP FOR YEARS, FILE A PIL WITH THE GOVERNMENT AND THE MULTINATIONAL COMPANIES BEING THE RESPONDENTS, AND CALL OUT THE GOVERNMENT, MULTINATIONAL COMPANIES, AND IAP LEADERSHIP ON SOCIAL MEDIA, IF SHE/HE WASN'T PASSIONATE ABOUT THE CASE. PUBLICITY CAN BE GOT IN MANY OTHER WAYS. I DIDN'T HAVE TO GO AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT ON SOCIAL MEDIA, LEAVE ALONE GOING AGAINST IAP LEADERSHIP.

4. You are being told that I am abusive and make derogatory comments.
I AM NOT ABUSIVE. I HAVE CALLED OUT IAP LEADERSHIP FOR THEIR INDIFFERENCE TO MY MAILS ASKING THEM TO ASK JOHNSON&JOHNSON/KENVUE TO REBRAND ORSL SO AS NOT TO CONFUSE PARENTS, AND TO NOT ALLOW FUNDS FROM THOSE COMPANIES FOR PEDICON TILL THEY DID SO. I STAND BY WHAT I SAID. IF THAT'S ABUSIVE, I LEAVE IT AGAIN TO YOUR CONSCIENCE.

5. You are being told that I have not attended EB meetings in IAP TCB. I DID ATTEND A COUPLE OF MEETINGS. I REALIZED I COULD NOT SURVIVE THERE. EVERY TIME I BROUGHT UP THE TOPIC OF MISBRANDED SUGARY LIQUIDS(MISBRANDED AS ORS), THE TOPIC WOULD BE DIVERTED. ONE OF THEM EVEN HAD GONE ON TO SAY, " IT IS PARENT'S CHOICE". IT WAS SUFFOCATING. I RESIGNED FROM THE MEMBERSHIP IN THE VERY BEGINNING ITSELF.

I am really shocked by the way some of you are trying to run this smear campaign instead of feeling heartened that one of the paediatricians has stood up against the pharma and ensured the children are protected from the sugary drinks misbranded as ORS.
I have written to the IAP, to the authorities, filed a PIL, raised awareness through social media, and I have sent so much evidence(including videos) to the Central Government for the FSSAI order of Oct 14th and 15th to happen. Even in the Delhi High Court arguments, the videos had apparently helped the FSSAI in it's arguments against Kenvue(JNTL).

I ask you all if this was an abusive message?! The president of IAP is taking pains to spread the message in the IAP circles that I am an abusive person and that I use derogatory language. Most IAPians at the ground level are supporting the cause and are supporting me, but the president and her coterie are hell bent on misleading the other IAPians that I have commercial interests in doing what I am doing, that I am earning money from social media, and that I am doing it for public attention.
It's basic common sense that no one would fight for years with multinational companies, the government, and their own professional body for earning money/gaining public attention. It is also basic common sense that one doesn't earn money through social media if the channel is a social channel and/or if one doesn't do endorsements.

You all have seen
1. How IAP president and her team refused to condemn the notice issued to me by Johnson&Johnson Pte Ltd and Kenvue
2. How the IAP president refused to condemn the Public notice by Kenvue that its ORSL drinks were scientific and that they were presented in PEDICON
3. The IAP's position statement on ORS and electrolytes emphasizing on the safety of Sucralose without talking about the other artificial sweeteners and without warning the parents about the risks of daily usage of Sucralose.
4. You also know that IAP conferences continue to be funded by Kenvue, and IAP had never asked them to remove ORS from the branding of Johnson&Johnson's/Kenvue's high sugar liquids inspite of my repeated mails.
5. Now, IAP president without knowing the ground reality sharing videos that anything which has ORS on it is ORS, after the FSSAI order.
No. It is not so. Sharing the pics of 2 brands which are stilling using ORS in the branding/on the label, violating FSSAI order. eRZL is still being marketed as the new form of ORSL, again violating the FSSAI order.

I wonder why the IAP president is going to such lengths to protect the company and pull down the one paediatrician who remained steadfast in her commitment to ensure 'ORS' is not used on the labels of any beverages or packs unless until it is WHO recommended formula ORS.

You all know how important that was for the children, old people, people with diabetes, and all!

Please do not get tired of me posting about the same thing. The stakes are high! Its a matter of crores of Indians, especially children. When it comes to children, hesitancy can have a cost! We cannot allow history to repeat! There may not be another Dr Sivaranjani to fight again. It's not just eRZL, but no drink should be positioned in the pharmacies along with WHO recommended formula ORS, and even better, none of the other beverages should be available in the pharmacies, hospitals, and schools. Please sign the petition and share it. We need to tell the Govt. how people of India feel about the issue, not that they don't know, but we need proof.

In May 2018, FSSAI submitted it's first draft in the Parliament saying there would be a RED MARK on the FRONT OF THE LABEL if the pack contained food with high amounts of SALT/SUGAR/SATURATED FAT. In September 2022, because of the pressure from the food industry (inspite of resistance from the consumer organizations), FSSAI submitted another draft favoring the star rating system.

In 2024, 3S and our health society filed a PIL in the Supreme Court saying that FSSAI should make FOPL warning mandatory.

On 10th Feb 2026, Supreme Court directing FSSAI to consider implementing FOPL warning and to get back in 4 weeks. FSSAI asked for some more time. There was a stakeholders' meeting on the 19th of March 2026 where most of the people werefrom the food industry and a few were from the consumers. A couple of representatives from NAPi were there, including @Moveribfan
Anytime, the FSSAI will submit it's final plan now.

We, Indians have to put such tremendous pressure on FSSAI that it won't have a choice but to go for FOPL warning that warns every innocent ignorant Indian as well, about the packed food being high in SALT/SUGAR/SATURATED FAT.

It is time all the influemcers and all the people rise up to the occasion and let FSSAI know what we need, just like how we did when there was a stay order (when Kenvue asked for a stay citing that recalling its 180 crore stock would spoil the name it had built for two decades) on the FSSAI order of October 14th and 15th asking companies not to have ORS in the branding or on the label, and to not use the term ORS for marketing of beverages/foods. ORS is a drug. Only CDSCO can give permission/licence. Only WHO recommended formula ORS is allowed to have ORS on the label.

Not just adults, even children are facing tremendous risk of obesity related complications with the food industry targeting them through various marketing strategies including celebrity endorsements.

The Great Indian Education Scam exposed!

Indian schools have become a billing machine. Schools today focus less on education and more on extortion!

You need to pay “donations” just to get admitted to schools. School textbooks are charging 10,000+ per year. Uniforms, books, shoes can be bought from fixed shops because schools take commissions.

The biggest irony is that these school make so much "profit" but are still classified in the non-profit category.

We need an Education system which has:
1. Transparent fee structures
2. A maximum limit on fees
3. Affordable Books & Uniform
4. Freedom to buy books from any seller

Severance packages are currently taxed under the head, “profits in lieu of salary” as per the Income Tax Act, 1961. In effect, this results in employees being taxed at the very moment they lose their source of income—when financial vulnerability is at its peak. While existing provisions provide limited exemptions depending on how severance is structured, they are neither adequate nor responsive to the realities of sudden and large-scale layoffs.

In this context, this is not a situation for incremental relief—it calls for a decisive, one-time policy response. There is a compelling case for granting a complete, temporary tax exemption on severance packages for individuals affected by such layoffs. This would ensure that impacted families retain the full financial cushion intended to support them during a period of transition and uncertainty.

I urge the Hon’ble Union Finance Minister @nsitharaman to examine this issue with urgency and adopt a compassionate and pragmatic approach by providing total temporary relief, rather than a partial or enhanced exemption.
