Exciting news! Dr. Aparajita Gogoi, Executive Director at C3, is set to speak at the International Conference and POP Festival for Youth-Led Climate Action 2024, exploring the intersections between #climatechange, #gender, #justice, and #equity.

This ground-breaking event will also mark the launch of a new book, "Transforming Unequal Gender Relations in India and Beyond: An Intersectional Perspective on Challenges and Opportunities", for which C3's has contributed three chapters. The chapters delve into our work across our 3 key portfolios - bridging the gendered digital divide by equipping young girls with 21st century skills, empowering women Panchayat leaders, and ensuring improved maternal health through respectful maternity care.

But when they access to the right information and resources from an early age, they are able to understand their bodies better, challenge menstrual taboos, and form life-long habits around menstrual hygiene that shape a healthier transition into adulthood.

At C3, we equip young menstruators with this information and resources so they can form the right habits and have healthier, safer periods.

17-year old Payal Pradhan is busting myths, challenging norms and catalyzing change in her community!

She is one of the many young peer educators C3 works with, in providing technical assistance to the Rashtriya Kishor Swasthya Karyakram (RKSK) in Jharkhand, aimed at boosting adolescent health at the community level. C3 identifies, trains, and mentors peer educators to conduct sessions with adolescents in communities, and equip them with increased knowledge on health, wellbeing and gender equity.

More power to Payal and the peer educators like her who are shaping a healthier, gender-equitable world!

When we invest in young people, we invest in a healthier, more confident, and gender-equitable world for all.

To commemorate #NationalYouthDay 2024, C3 hosted the Youth Catalyst Conclave in Ranchi, Jharkhand - celebrating Jharkhand’s journey of adolescent empowerment over the past two decades, highlighting both the gains and areas of further investment around adolescent well-being in the state. The conclave also amplified the inspiring stories of young people from various districts in Jharkhand.

Rajya Sabha member @maji_mahua highlighted the importance youth-centered programming, while Dr @ZoyaAliRizvi, Deputy Commissioner (Nutrition), Ministry of Health and Welfare, spoke about the need for adolescent mental health support.

For over 18 years, C3 has worked with young people in Jharkhand to bolster their agency, life skills, and wellbeing, while ensuring they stay in school and delay marriage. The conclave showcased the on-ground change our work has catalyzed, and the government initiatives that have facilitated this change.
