On this day 35 years ago, North America got to play with super power for the first time! ๐
The Super NES had its initial North American launch in August 1991, with Super Mario World, F-Zero, Pilotwings, Gradius III, and SimCity among its launch titles, followed by a wider nationwide release in September. The Super Famicom had already debuted in Japan on November 21, 1990, launching alongside Super Mario World.
The Super Nintendo arrived comparatively late to the fourth-generation 16-bit console wars, competing against systems like the Sega Genesis and TurboGrafx-16. Despite its late start, it ultimately emerged as the best-selling 16-bit console of the era, though I still love Sega, too! ๐
The SNES is still one of my favorite consoles and gave us some of my favorite games, including Final Fantasy VI and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past! I also adore Chrono Trigger, one of the most elegant games ever made, which was released in North America 31 years ago yesterday. โค๏ธ
There are so many other classics I could name like Super Metroid, Donkey Kong Country, EarthBound, Street Fighter II, Super Mario Kart, Secret of Mana, and so many more. The SNES library is amazing!
Playing Super Nintendo always brings a smile to my face and takes me right back to the 16-bit era. And now that Iโve figured out how to make these game dresses, naturally I had to make one for the SNES! ๐ฅฐ
Happy 35th anniversary to the Super Nintendo! ๐ฎโค๏ธ
Legitimately never seen something so universally hated. Like legitimately, every fandom, every LGBTQ, every person in every corner of the internet, all gathered around, and ripped this thing to pieces in the last 24 hours
Genuinely impressive to unite everyone like that.

There are very serious problems with the way digital media distribution is handled, and that includes any system whose terms insist that buying digital media is a โlicenseโ that can be taken โat any time for any reason without compensationโ๐
This is why we demand physical media to continue, because physical games are a hard copy that we own, that SHOULD have the full game on it, without the need for internet.
Please do not derail the conversation by turning this into another PlayStation vs. XBOX console war.
Physical and digital media need rewritten laws that guarantee players arenโt just threat money at something that can be taken away at any time, without compensation, masquerading as a โpurchaseโ

STOP TELLING ME โNOBODY BUYS PHYSICAL GAMES.โ
Xbox is barely 4% of U.S. physical game spending.
Nintendo is 63%.
Physical isnโt dead.
Maybe companies just stopped giving people a reason to buy it.
I'm Japanese, but I was surprised by how natural the language in this flyer is. Since Japan has lenient standards for nudity, I thought this was a flyer that could very well exist. Even the font looks way too natural.
I wonder if this is actually a flyer from a storefront, rather than from a magazineโฆ?
The fight for Nuevo Tokyo begins.
Become the Mexican Ninja, take on the Narkuzas with fast-paced combat, ridiculous combo builds, powerful Mexican Jutsus and a lineup of larger-than-life bosses.
