Even considering that the market rate increases at an average of 6%, the cost of the property wouldn't exceed INR 1,60,00,000. And that's not even factoring in expenses like property registration, lawyer fees, brokerage, property tax, income tax, and maintenance over the years. Renting, on the other hand, offers flexibility. You can adjust rent against income tax and easily move if you're not satisfied with the property. So, the notion that "You must own your own house..." hails from a bygone era of simplicity, job security, and predictability. It makes no sense whatsoever.
