Since Nigeria was created in 1914, no ethnicity has said that any government demolished their houses because of their tribe. Only one people have ever made these allegations. And it is a very dangerous allegation to make. Some months ago, someone even asked the Governor of Lagos to publish the ethnic origins of everyone whose houses had been demolished. What sort of country do we want? Can you go to England or America and build illegally, and when the consequences come, you use your race as a defence? So why do it in Nigeria? It is one thing to say you have your legal papers. But it is an entirely different thing to say, 'It is because I am Hausa Igbo or Yoruba'.
