दुर्गा सप्तशती सच में एक बहुत ही शक्तिशाली पाठ मानी जाती है। अगर कोई श्रद्धावान व्यक्ति स्वयं गुरुमुख होकर इसका पाठ न कर सके, तो उसे चाहिए कि वह किसी ऐसे नैष्ठिक ब्राह्मण को आमंत्रित करे जो दुर्गा सप्तशती में दीक्षित हों और जिन्होंने इसे गुरुमुख से प्राप्त किया हो।

But that won’t benefit as dharma because “सुखस्य मूल धर्म” if you want your Sadhna should help in this life and after that one must follow dharma not benefits only. धर्म ही मृत्यु के बाद साथ आता है। guru ke mahatva ko koi anubhav maat nahin de sakta.

In sanatan dharma we don’t go behind benefits only, if one gets benefits that’s only proof, no.
Sanatan dharma’s parampara is a guru shishya parampara. People do get benefit without taking the mantra from guru as people get benefit from giving Bali of infants in west1/n

Whatever he is saying is pretty much inaccurate as far as Saptashati is concerned.
I did not get Saptashati Durga from Guru mukha but I had visions of the Goddess long before I ever started any sadhana > 30 years ago (a few people here know about this and I don’t talk about it anymore but in this case it is important to understand that Devi can choose anybody how so ever tiny like me and transform them with ease).
I started doing Saptashati, slowly and painstakingly and I got superb results from it (I might have done Sahasra Chandi homas a few times in my life and at one time I even did Chandi homas for a full year for one particular person in politics also).

The person’s (in QT) statement is Inaccurate because I have personally taught so many people and many of those who followed the rules got some benefit from it (some who didn’t follow rules also got benefit).
So at least as far as Durga Saptashati and any Pouranic stotra is concerned, it is safe to do.
Yes, you should learn pronunciation well.
Now… one more big point I should make:
Not everyone can become spiritual in one lifetime and to become spiritual… one is likely to get some or more pain and suffering in that life.
So … it’s important to understand that the Devi of Saptashati is extremely Ugra and while people’s understanding is that they should get all white goods, car, house and cash (and if possible nice woman or man)… the Devata views this as nonsense and sees your life as ephemeral … gone in a blink of an eye and She sees that death will be at your door soon and so like any good Mother, She attempts to cut your attachments in one go with that huge Khadga of Hers. And the speed at which She does things is like the charge of a full grown lion (hence seated on a lion) so She knows that you will lose everything at Death and attempts to give you that understanding which will make you free quite soon BUT most people don’t like that transformation.
So … if one sits in the kitchen, one should be prepared to take some heat also.
Of course if She wills it, entire empires can rise or fall.
