ตามที่รัฐบาลไทยและรัฐบาลกัมพูชาได้ตกลงร่วมกันในการยุติการสู้รบทางทหารบริเวณแนวชายแดน โดยมีผลตั้งแต่เวลา 24.00 น. ของวันที่ 28 กรกฎาคม 2568 เพื่อเปิดทางสู่สันติภาพและความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศเพื่อนบ้านนั้น

วันที่ 29 กรกฎาคม 2568 พลตรี วิทัย ลายถมยา โฆษก กองบัญชาการกองทัพไทย กองทัพไทย ได้รับการยืนยันว่ายืนยันว่า ฝ่ายไทยได้ปฏิบัติตามข้อตกลงหยุดยิงอย่างเคร่งครัด หยุดยิงทุกพื้นที่ทันทีที่ถึงกำหนดเวลา โดยยึดมั่นในคำมั่นสัญญาที่รัฐบาลทั้งสองฝ่ายได้ร่วมกันให้ไว้

อย่างไรก็ตาม ในช่วงเวลาหลังจากกำหนดหยุดยิง ฝ่ายกัมพูชายังคงใช้อาวุธยิงเข้ามาในเขตแดนของประเทศไทยอย่างต่อเนื่องในหลายจุด ถือเป็นการกระทำที่ จงใจละเมิดข้อตกลง และ บ่อนทำลายความเชื่อมั่น ที่ควรมีต่อกันในฐานะประเทศเพื่อนบ้าน

กองทัพไทย ขอประณามพฤติกรรมดังกล่าวของฝ่ายกัมพูชา และขอยืนยันว่า ประเทศไทยมีความจำเป็นต้องใช้มาตรการโต้กลับ ภายใต้สิทธิในการป้องกันตนเองตามหลักกฎหมายระหว่างประเทศ ทั้งนี้ ไทยมิได้ใช้กำลังเพื่อรุกราน แต่เพื่อปกป้องอธิปไตยของชาติ และความปลอดภัยของประชาชน

"เมื่อเราหยุด แต่เขาไม่หยุด...โลกต้องได้รับรู้ว่า กัมพูชาคือผู้ละเมิดข้อตกลงอย่างต่อเนื่อง เและเป็นฝ่ายที่ ไม่เคารพกติกาสากล ไม่ยึดถือข้อตกลงระหว่างประเทศใด ๆ ที่ได้ประกาศไว้ในเวทีระดับโลก
และเป็น ภัยต่อความมั่นคงของภูมิภาคและของโลก"

การยอมรับพฤติกรรมเช่นนี้ เท่ากับเปิดช่องให้ความอยุติธรรมกลายเป็นบรรทัดฐานในระบบระหว่างประเทศ ดังนั้นกองทัพไทย จึงขอเรียกร้องให้ประชาคมโลกร่วมกันยืนหยัดบนหลักแห่งความจริง ความยุติธรรม และหลักนิติธรรมระหว่างประเทศ เพื่อให้เกิดสันติภาพตามเป้าประสงค์ต่อไป

Royal Thai Armed Forces Reaffirm the Right to Self-Defense Under International Law to Safeguard National Sovereignty and the Thai People

Following the agreement between the Governments of Thailand and Cambodia to cease all hostilities along the border—effective from 00.00 hours on 28 July 2025—as a pathway toward peace and strengthened cooperation between neighboring nations,

On 29 July 2025, Major General Vithai Laithomya, Spokesperson for the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters, stated that Thailand has strictly complied with the ceasefire agreement. All offensive actions were halted immediately upon the effective time, in full adherence to the commitment jointly made by both governments.

However, after the agreed ceasefire deadline, Cambodian forces continued to launch attacks into Thai territory at multiple locations. Such actions represent a deliberate violation of the ceasefire and a serious breach of trust expected between neighboring countries.

The Royal Thai Armed Forces condemn these repeated violations by the Cambodian side. Thailand is therefore compelled to respond appropriately, exercising its legitimate right to self-defense in accordance with international law. Thailand has not initiated any aggression, but has acted solely to protect its sovereignty and ensure the safety of its people.

“When we stop, but they do not… the world must know that Cambodia is the violator—persistently breaching the agreement, disregarding international norms, and showing contempt for global commitments. Cambodia now poses a threat to both regional and global security.”

Accepting such behavior sets a dangerous precedent—normalizing injustice in the international system. The Royal Thai Armed Forces therefore call upon the international community to stand firmly for truth, justice, and the rule of international law, in pursuit of lasting peace.

Cambodia opened fire on Phanom Dong Rak area in Thailand early Sunday morning, with shells hitting civilian homes and causing fire damage. Heavy weapon fire continues.

This morning, July 27, the state-owned NBT Connext Facebook page reported that Cambodia opened fire on Thailand early this morning in the area of Phanom Dong Rak District, Surin Province.

Details provided include:
At 06:40 AM, artillery shells from the Cambodian side hit civilian homes in Surin Province, causing damage due to fire. There are no reports of injuries or deaths yet. Officials currently cannot fully investigate the details as shelling continues intermittently.
The situation on the Thai-Cambodian border in Surin Province began with gunfire around 04:30-04:40 AM. The sounds were heard coming from the Cambodian side, firing into Thailand in the area of Ta Khwai Temple. The sounds then continued intermittently from both Thai and Cambodian sides, expanding to the Chong Chom area.

Around 05:30 AM, heavy weapon fire from the Cambodian side, similar to a BM-21, was reported to have hit the Thai side, prompting Thailand to retaliate with heavy weapons as well.

As of 07:00 AM, the sound of heavy weapons continues intermittently.

This morning's renewed shelling from the Cambodian side comes after US President Donald Trump spoke by phone last night with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and Thailand's Acting Prime Minister Phumtham Wechayachai.

Cambodian forces continue their artillery attacks on Thai communities in the border province of Surin today, despite having agreed to a ceasefire with Thailand, at the request of the US president, Thai Army spokesman Maj Gen Winthai Suvaree said today.

Artillery shells landed on homes in Ban Tasoh village in Prasat district, sparking fires. Firefighters were dispatched but, by the time the fires were out, the houses had been completely destroyed.
